You might have heard that the guys at Stainless Games have been trying to Carmageddon + the Splat Pack if you back the Kickstarter project for $25 or more!

In case you aren’t aware of what Carmageddon is, let’s take you a brief tour of gaming history. It’s the late nineties, and Stainless Software Ltd. brings a game that bursts onto the scene in a spray of blood, a crash of steel, and a anguished shriek of pedestrians when they released Carmageddon. It’s an ultra-violent racing game--this is not one for the kiddies!--where you crash, rend, crush, crumple, and demolish your way to victory. There’s a backstory of sorts--the world has gone to pot, and you’re racing in order to survive in a car-eat-car world--but that’s not the point.

Your job is to win races. Sure, you could play the game like a realistic racing simulator, avoiding any fender-benders and pedestrians. You can even win all of the races that way if you’re talented. But the real fun comes from pulling wild stunts, wrecking and collecting your opponents’ cars, and generally wreaking havoc on the track. Carmageddon launched amidst a lot of controversy due to its violent nature, but under the gore and impressive 3dFX graphics lies a great game.

This will be coming to GOG.com in the upcoming months--our crack team of contentologists is hard at work getting all of the bytes dusted off and all of the graphics buffed to a high shine--and will be available here for $9.99. In the meantime, though, if you want to help make the next Carmageddon game happen, you can back it on Kickstarter, and if you chip in more than $25, you’ll get the GOG.com copy of Carmageddon for free once we’ve gotten it launched!

Gentlemen, start your engines!
Well, I'd really like to support this but Kickstarter only allows Amazon Payments and that in turn requires a credit card. Something that isn't all that common in Europe. I don't have one and do not plan to get one.
So unless Kickstarter adds more payment options I'm out.

I will not jump through hoops for a prepaid card either. If they make pledging so hard they have only themselves to blame.

See my reply to ZerbSama just above....
No problem.
I thought you may have been too busy asking questions and F5'ing every 2 seconds.
:D

Thanks for linking it for people :)

I like amazon payments, i only use amazon and paypal for internet purchases so no need to enter debit card details on lots of sites, those two are all you need really.

I'm shocked you haven't got at least a debit card from your bank which amazon accepts, no credit card charges on them in the UK.

ZerbSama: People without a Credit Card (like about the most people in Central Europe) aren't able to pledge at this Project. Too Bad...

jimbob0i0: There's a couple of options potentially....

Their FAQ lists a way of using pre-paid: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/stainlessgames/carmageddon-reincarnation#IDontHaveACredCardCanIStilPled

That will get you onto the kickstarter too and help towards the kickstarter figures....

The second way is after the kickstarter is complete (and funded too probably so after this is over) paypal options will then be added.
Thank you for these links, but....

That's not an option for me. Sure, I would pledge if there is a way, but this way shouldn't be this stony...

Both "prepaid Cards" come with extra fees for loading money on this account, and the v3 system even "steals" a fee every month based on the rest amount ...

I really wish to help this project, but not on terms I rather would like to see destroyed.

And as far as I can see, amazon.de and at are capable of using bank-accounts for dynamic payment... But if kickstarter isn't in the mood (or whatever) to accept a proper payment method, I can't do a thing.... Or would you go and buy another car, just because the Oil Station isn't in the mood to sell you the Oil you want? I guess you would search for a fitting solution, so do I in this case...

Now kids under 12, they're worth Double Points

If your amazon account is linked to your bank account for direct payment doesn't that work for the Amazon Payments system used by kickstarter?

Worst case wait for the PayPal option if need be - won't be long now I expect at the rate things are going.
Yes! Yes! A million times yesss!

Unfortunetly it won't work, cause they linked it to the amazon.com site. My amazon login works fine, but in this "region-store" I've to use a credit card. The co.uk shop is based on the same procedude. I guess, it's a deal between amazon.de and the german banks, but the reason is the "not credit card friendly country"

Therefore I guess, you're right, I've to wait for the PayPal edition (or if this also fails the Steam version and the "regular" GOG.com release.... But Thanks for the help ;)
Bad........ass. I remember there was a Playstation 1 port, but I never got around to playing it as I was usually absorbed by the Twisted Metal series or Vigilante 8 series back in my PS1 days. Now I have another chance to finally play the Carmageddon series thanks to Stainless Games and GOG.
Hmmm..... Looked this and the expansion up on MobyGames, sounds there's alot of content with the base game and the expansion. $9.99 for all that when it releases on GOG? You got yourself an instabuy here. :)

Good! Heh.... now I wonder if I can convince you to pledge $25 to get the old game on GOG, the new game on Steam and the DRM-Free version of the new one all in one go.... ;)
