Teaser Website

It's a thematic pay-what-you-want bundle by Kyttaro games with DRM-free games, plus Steam and Desura keys when available and charity options. Sounds just like the HIB, but with thematic coherence, and the first bundle will be about "Adventure" or adventure games. Apparantly it will contain 7 games and one of them will be created specifically for the bundle. It's said to come before spring is over - I guess that means during the next 2-3 weeks?

Now for the fun part: Which games do you expect do be featured in it? And which games would you actually like to see in it?

Since there aren't that much indie adventures around, it's likely that some of the games were already included in other bundles (like the games from Amanita design and WadjetEye Games), but I really hope there will be some surprises and not a cast like:

* WILD SPECULATION ALERT!*

Time Gentlemen Please!
Gemini Rue
Blackwell Bundle (although that would actually contain 3 games, so half of the bundle already ...)
Machinarium
Botanicula
Jolly Rover
and a 15 min playtime AGS game that was quickly put together for the bundle. :P

Not that it wouldn't be an awesome deal for the few adventure lovers who still don't own any of these games yet ... if such people actually exist. ;)

What do you think?

EDIT: Here's a direct link to the Adventure bundle!

They've been promoting this for a few months now.

I'm pretty much tired of waiting for them. :P

Especially if it ends up being a letdown. So it better include some great adventures that weren't featured in other bundles before. >:(

But yeah, this thread is essentially an expression of impatience on my part. ;)

I'm interested. Would also like if someone came up with an RPG themed one too.
The genre hint might be misleading though. Maybe the games won't all be point-and-click adventures but games of various genres with the theme "Adventure".

In fact, this interview suggests it will be more than one genre:
What does the adventure bundle mean, are all games going to be adventure genre?

Well, we can’t really reveal that, but “Adventure Bundle” should be a rather strong hint. Oh, and we will be offering one game belonging to a genre that has never been featured in a bundle before.
Btw, there's also this, regarding the "PWYW" concept:
Will there be a minimum price?

Yes, there will be, but a constantly dropping one.

Hm, a genre never bundled? We've seen point-and-click before... Has there been a 3D platformer adventure like Psychonauts bundles? Or a Myst-esque exploratory one?

The dropping price is interesting, although depending on how it works out it may encourage everyone to wait as long as possible to buy?

I bet that comment refers to the exclusive game and they made up a genre for it. Or it's just an unusual mix of different genres. Or something like a Visual Novel or a Dating Sim?

Heh, I'd love to see people's reactions if it ends up being a VN or Dating Sim. I would like to see something that's a cool mix of genres. Doesn't happen enough imo.
If it has Gemini Rue in it, you're buying it.

That's an order.
Could be a hidden object game.

spindown: Could be a hidden object game.
Argh, I hope not. I've never liked Hidden Object games, it's like building an entire game around the worst part of point and clicks games - pixel hunting.

So it's good, then?
I can see the logic in carrying one or two games from previous bundles, so that anyone who missed those bundles can grab another chance, but compiling bundles from all of your previous bundles doesn't make for an appealing package.

I don't care much for Blackwell. It reads like it was written by a 'young adult' author. The kind who fantasizes about romantic trysts with the spectral population.

If it wasn't for the deaths, it would be the greatest adventure game in the world. Ever (there are only 3 or 4 instances where you can die).

Wadjet Eye redefined adventure somewhat, and their revolution went tragically unnoticed (I guess it is hard to start a revolution in a nation with only three citizens).

With The Shivah and Blackwell, they were able to make adventure games beautifully philosophical and Gemini Rue does that to an even greater degree; asking questions of the self, memory and identity and exploring them through a beautiful and believable dystopian sci-fi world.

Simply cannot recommend it highly enough.
What I'm missing from WadjetEye is "Blackwell Deception", so I'm counting on that.
I'm not getting my hopes up too high. it's likely the bundle will contain well-known stuff from other bundles (otherwise I guess they would have advertised that it doesn't). And they might stretch the definition of "adventure" so far that the "theme" becomes meaningless as a unique selling point (after all HIB and Indie Royale had bundles with a commn denominator, too, so unless it's convincingly clear and coherent, it's nothing all that special). I'd also expect the surprise to be underwhelming, but that's probably just my pessimistic worldview. ;)

Some potential but a lot more unlikely games I'd love to see included in such a bundle would be DRM-free

Stacking
Kaptain Brawe
The Journey Down Chapter 1
What Makes You Tick: A Stitch in Time
The Dream Machine Bundle
Superbrothers Sword & Sorcery

or some of the more unknown or obscure little indie adventures that I've been curious to try but hesitant to buy at full price, like:

Anastronaut
The Ballad of Reemus: When The Bed Bites
Da New Guys: Day of the Jackass
Downfall
The Adventures of Fatman
Super Jazz Man

And if the genre never included in a bundle would be the "Dating Sim" Cherry Tree High Comedy Club, I think I wouldn't complain. ;)
