The Playstation Network is attacked by hackers several times in a short period, Sony take the network down for safety... this leaves the PS3 and PSP owners without their online gaming.... no new DLC... during this time where PS3 users can't play CoD and similar games online... the US finally find and kill Bin Laden.... coincidence? Hmmmm...
Are you sure Sony faced several attacks. Isn't it the same attack on different structures?
Attack by Anonymous, then whoever did the other breach and took the info.
Two morbidly engorged threads made from beat-to-death-topics covered on every other forum and what do we do? Put them down? Yes! Only to revive their corpses and create some Frankenstien abomination.

However, to stay on topic... notice that no one mentioned cyberterrorists as a possible culprit. Osama could still put that frail body to good use.

Imagine what we could accomplish if Xbox Live went down.
This must be the 50th time I've seen that joke in the past few days. It's almost as bad as the "Happy Zombie Jesus Day!" joke during Easter.

I don't know. What could a bunch of potty mouthed 13 year olds accomplish without XBox Live? Squat in each others faces in real life? ;)

If we're talking in that way... Anonymous can be ANYBODY on this planet. ;) The "official" Anonymous group already said that they aren't the ones behind this.

But official Anonymous group, as we all know, do not freaking exist. And neither do unofficial Anonymous groups. :)

Hmm... nothing?

Me saying anonymous, was in reference to the group, they DID hack the PSN, but they aren't the group associated with the hack which led to the downtime.
To make another point... I wonder if the GoG site maintenance is linked to things too >_> :P

Also feel that windows/xbox live should be taken down for a week, along with steam... then the WMDs could be found, global warming solved, world hunger sorted, the first FTL space ship built, other forms of life in the universe found, and hopefully during the process, Beiber and the cast of Twilight get offered as a sacrifice for a great summer for all >_>

Considering that Sony is now reporting that the second hack that hit the SOE servers left behind a file called "Anonymous" with the content "We are legion", it would seem that some Anonymous hacker has done this, but not necessarily with permission from the "official leadership". Either that or someone is trying to point the blame at Anonymous and throw the FBI, Homeland Security and the private internet security firms off the right trail.

Yea, there really isn't any solid proof for anything yet.
So glad I only use my PSP for single-player gaming and never trust my credit card info to anything in "the cloud".

Oh and if I did have a credit card entrusted somewhere, I would make sure to max it out and not pay for it, thus, if someone wanted to max it out they would have a hard time doing so :D.
Just in case you missed the most recent word from Sony:

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/05/04/sonys-response-to-the-u-s-house-of-representatives

I am interested in the mention of free downloads. I have no interest in the free services that I wouldn't pay for anyway. It almost seems promotional.
