I used to believe all cheap computer mice suck but I was wrong. If I win, Gabriel Knight, please.

A while back, I thought this girl in my class was into me because she would often gaze at me. Turns out she pretty much does that to any guy, and I didn't mean anything to her >_>
I thought I would be feeling better by today, but I was wrong.

Thanks and +1!

I used to believe that I had far too many cats, but then I found someone who takes care of over 150 of them. It changed my perspective.

I also used to think I'd owned some "large cats." Now, I know better...

If I was less tired, I'd try to tie this in with King of Dragon Pass.
I used to think that the "immigration problem" in Greece was as fantasmatic as in other countries. I now know more about Dublin 2.

I also used to think that greek student strikes and university occupations were an effect of intelligence, dignity and humanism. I slowly and bitterly realised the amount of childishness, laziness and vandalism glee that are beneath the intrumentalisation of principles that I otherwise support. It makes me ill at ease.

I used to think that anti-intellectualism and enthousiastically prejudice-based outlooks were exclusive to the right wing. I now learnt to recognise the same thought processes and patterns on both sides, with different content.

I used to think that religions themselves were an important driving force. I know learnt to see them as blankets over more profound issues.

I used to think that the irrational beliefs, supertition and supernatural stuff were harmful because wrong. Now I learnt to appreciate the social and psychological functions fulfilled by some beliefs and rituals, and to consider that physical causal reality is sometimes secondary to them.

I used to think that the price to pay for not playing dirty was lower.

Oh, also, not in. Thanks.

I wrote a post with something really serious but I think that would throw the vibe of this thread off (not to mention I probably don't want it floating around on the internet forever) so I'll go with a super simplified version of it.

I used to think that as a whole, most people perceived reality in fairly similar terms. For example, I thought that people's differing understandings of the world around them could be put on a scale from maybe 1-100. Truth is it's more like 1-1x10^100

I'm oversimplifying it cause I don't really want to get into what I'm really talking about (too personal) but I hope that's somewhat interesting :).

In for Age of Wonders (first one)

I used to think the Metro interface of Windows 8 would put me off using it.
I once thought my marriage would last for the rest of my life, two and half years later I was filling for divorce after finding out she was nailing some 17 year old drug addict..needless to say I was quite wrong...

Should I be picked I would like Etherlords.

Been there, done that.
Except my first marriage lasted a little under 6 months.
Hell, the divorce took longer!

Afterwards, I swore I would never get married again.
Wrong again!!

Next month I celebrate 10 years with an absolutely wonderful lady.
^I don't know you, but that makes me happy for you. Peace :)

Oh also, please don't mock me, because the very subject of this thread is about showing vulnerability and bitter naive mistakes, but I did use to firmly believe that inquisitor would be completely awesome.
I used to think Grand Theft Auto was awesome until I played Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven and thanks.

I'd want Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura if I win.
