AlKim: Also, people live longer now than in the pre-industrial era, and most, if not all types of cancer are more common among the elderly than the young. It's hard to die of what we generally think of a condition of the elderly when the average life expectancy hovers around our midlife crisis mark.
The AVERAGE life expectancy was lower, pre industrial infant mortality drags it down quite alot. EDIT: And you people are all nuts, yeah many things can kill you, so you decide to care about none?
