The biggest cause of mental breakdowns is.... mental problems. No way in hell you can say "This is what caused it." It's different for every person, just like everything else in life. Problem is, some operate under the assumption "We're all basically the same", which to me is bollocks.

And even if some nutjob "explains" his actions, I don't know how anyone can then say "Aha! Told you so!" ... I wonder when someone will try the talking dog excuse again...

Yes, even the british media are at it (instead of bashing post-collonial american gun law like the used to).
According to my dad, however (who is currently undergoing some kind of genuine and scary insanity) "it wouldnae ave happened if the bassads ad learned tae spell reet and no say 'aLOOminum'".
I doubt theres much in that - but probably more factual evidence than any report on the dangers of violent games, metal music or anything else the media decides to blame.
So... as GOGites - I think we should find a random reason like my dad did and bombard media agencies with our testemonies!

Calibrus: I know. I don't buy into this either. But I thought it interesting to note this because of the other thread bashing Fox News and right wing media for linking video games. Fact is, they're not unique. Every media source seems to be throwing this out there. But suggesting censorship is a solution isn't one at all. Spending our lives "walking on eggshells" because of how someone might respond to a game is kind of oppressive. I'd rather oppress the bad guys not the good guys.
