Since I could not find a solution for the problem even on official TFD forums, I'm trying you guys, I think people around here probly have the most experience in making old games work as compared to the ... Rest of the internets :D
Well, first of all: I have tried compability modes, running as administrator and disabling one of the cores.
Second of all: The problem is: Tiberian Sun runs... Weird. After .. well, about one minute in-game, it becomes really laggy, but only when I build something. Building seems to drop speed of the game to about half, and when I build two things at a time, it runs on half of that half speed.
So, if you had ecountered a similar issue... Pelase, tell me how to solve it, I want to play TS again so bad
If you need assistance then people will need the usual details - CPU, RAM, operating system, graphics card and any other system setup details of note.
Oh, I knew I forgot something, sorry!
First of all, it's a notebook (acer aspire 8920g)
OS: Windows 7
Graphic card: nvidia GeForce 9500M GS, 512 MB
RAM: 4 GB
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo / 2,5 GHz
If you are using the First Decade pack have you installed the 1.03 fan patch? Thats what got all the games running for me. Didn't even need compatibility mode
Have you:
- Updated your GPU drivers?
- Tried using RunFirst?
- Making sure your CPU is properly recognised in Windows?
- Tried using the free version of the game? The lack of disc accessing might help.

Yep, the same as setting affinity as far as I have found out, yep, 1,03 removes disk req. Also, just to be sure, I have tried the free version.

That's precisely the reason I have mentioned having 1,3, so yes

You may have mentioned it on the TFD forums but you didn't mention it here. It may seem obvious but not everyone knows about the 1.03 patch as EA certainly don't promote it.

Namur: check the thread title again ;)

Well that shut me up. I never think to look at the thread title just the contents.
To be honest, that's a new one. Might be a memory leak, but I doubt it, as it's the first I've heard of this problem. Perhaps uninstall, reinstall as admin, reapply patch as admin and run game as admin? I dunno.
My first thought is that the progress overlay on the building graphics is the problem. Perhaps its a transparency issue, have you tried switching windows to the basic colour scheme before playing?

If I could, I would try that in the first place... But I can't do so with my weird lappy graphics card
you using original drivers or the better modded ones from laptopvideo2go?
