I wish Cliffy luck in his future endeavors. One of the greatest video game developers of all time.

So what does this mean for Epic Games?

What is it with those departures lately? Peter Molyneux (for the second time), Ray Muzyka, Adrian Chmielarz and now Cliffy B? Who next? David Cage? Ah, whatever, fuck those losers. :P

And considering the "what does this mean for Epic Games" - I'm rather wondering what will happen to People Can Fly after Chmielarz left because of Epic Games' takeover.

^ some people have been in the business for way too long, so they probably are feeling burned out and want to try something new.

In any case, Bleszinski was quite... annoying at times, especially when he was trashtalking the PC gamers for piracy and similar stuff.

As are all big names of the industry, but yeah - Cliffy B might actually get the crown - or at least share it with David Cage.

Peter Molyneux is the true king of always breaking promises, I'll take Clffy B any day.

Yeah, but at least Molyneux didn't appear in a trailer for a game he was barely involved in only to make facial expressions like some gay pornstar. There was some trailer for Bulletstorm where some Epic staff talked random shit and I was just pissed. Bulletstorm was PCF's work, I hated that Cliffy B put his face on it like that.
Cliffy B has departed from Epic Games huh? As long as Tim Sweeny is still onboard, I feel that Epic is still in good hands. Cliffy B is kind of a douche anyways so not too big of a loss that I am aware of.
Let's hope he was the one keeping more Epic classics from appearing on GOG. ;)

Why does he need luck? The dude breaks 10 traffic laws per minute in his expensive race cars. He can pretty much do whatever he wants now, he's beyond rich. I'm not sure he needs any luck whatsoever.

I'm pretty sure both of you are forgetting about Derek Smart.

I can't even remember when my perception of him changed from developer to eccentric millionaire.
Cliffy has become such an egotistical douchebag, Epic will be just fine without him.
I don't really care for the personnel drama inside gaming companies. I stopped caring after Looking Glass Studios closed doors. Meh.
For me Cliff was just a celebrity. I won't miss him a bit.

This.

Given that I don't have an Xbox 360 or an iDevice, I can't remember the last time I played an Epic Games title. UT3 perhaps briefly, but they seem to have lost their sparkle. They're certainly not a PC developer of any note nowadays like they were in the 90s and early 2000s.
I'm still baffled when people call Gears of War "visceral." Apart from the admittedly brutal chainsaw melee, I've always felt that the combat was pretty bland.

OT: One of the greatest videogame developers of all time? Really?
