Kinda meta-discussion here, but does anybody else find it disconcerting that clicking the thread title takes you to the last page instead of the first page?
It's counter-intuitive and contrary to how almost all other forum software works.

I don't find it that counter-intuitive. I almost always use the "jump to last post" option to view topics, anyway. You can just start from the first page by clicking on the "p: 1" part, if you want to.

I agree. To be honest, most of this forum works differently from "standard" forums. I've mentioned this before, but nobody else seem to care.
I also find it annoying that you can't see who the last poster is, only the first. I don't much care who has started a given thread, but I'd like to be able to see who has posted last. Especially if I've posted there myself recently.

You can always click on '1' as pkt-zer0 said, but I agree with the latter
Personally, I like the way it works. However, what I think would make it very useful is to show the Original Post a the top of the page to give the reader a reference point.
This is how it work in the Space Empires V forums.
You have to scroll to the bottom to get to page 2 but you will see the original post on every page.

This would make for a great way of reading posts and being able to give Positives to the OP.
click on the number 1.
Hey all,
In the upcoming website update (check out our latest newsletter), we'll be adding some nice new functionality to the whole website, including forums. One of new things will be an option in My Settings to change whether to go to the first page or last page when you click the topic name.

Sounds good, but why don't you just use a normal piece of forum software?

We strongly believe that we can create even better things by doing them custom, from the scratch, instead of "as everyone else does it". Actually the whole idea of GOG.com resembles that - fully web-based "on-demand" platform, without DRMs, without launchers, without activations, without limit on redownloads etc.
We understand that some people are used to standard forums software and we will constantly improve, add functionalities that people wish for (because there IS a huge room for improvement :). Still, considering our future website updates and plans, creating the custom forums was really the best way :)

Good to hear the GOG guys are actively listening to their customers. Far too many companies don't really do that anymore. Keep it it up and you'll be keeping me as a customer for a very long time.
I'm with the OP on the whole thread display issue, though I didn't consider it to be something worthy of reporting. I am very used to forums displaying oldest before newest and those I have encountered that did not do that by default usually had the option to change that in the user's preferences. I was kind of surprised that this one did not, but once I discovered that clicking on the page numbers could accomplish the same thing, it was no longer an issue for me.

yes, yes, yes.. if there's one thing i hate about gog, it's this. Please fix it!!
Nice. This has been bugging me to no end.
I thought this was weird as well, but didn't see fit to complain. I am glad that the option will be available, though. :)

Wow, thanks! Options are always good. I didn't mean to come across as too complaining, was mostly an observation that it worked differently from most.
I am always impressed with GoG's responsiveness.
<3 you guys!
