Now that we are soon getting games who are in the top ten of the wishlist (Outcast yipppeee) the question is are those titles removed from the wishlist?
I ask because many games who have already been released are still in the wishlist, i dont even mentioning the idiotic votes.
I really hope so. I am sure once the top ten were cleansed free, the next filled slots will get more votes. American Mcee's Alice will probably reach place 1.
Also, there are too many new games added. I doubt the new Prince of Persia even deserves a place here.

Everyone makes a post about cleaning up the wishlist :p
Honestly, I think that the Wishlist is more a way to get a feel for what kinds of games are wanted here/how to prioritize the releasing of games as well as a way to make people not make threads about the games they want.
So yeah, probably never going to get cleaned. Might get reset when we get the long-mentioned site update.
Considering that all of the games that GOG currently offers are still on the wishlist and for some stupid reason people still vote on them, I really doubt we will see anything happen to the top ten list after Outcast is released. Maybe after the GOG 1.0 update they'll clean it up, but the simple release of those games is not likely to change anything.

Any idea when this will happen?

Supposedly by the end of April, IIRC from the interviews the GOG guys have given. Regardless of the specific date, its going to happen soon enough that they are already prepping for its roll out.
There's a lot of redundant shit in that wishlist anyway. I wouldn't worry about it. It essentially boils down to being a marketing tool for GOG ("Look Mr Publisher. This many people want to buy your games.") and a means to stop such requests from absolutely flooding this forum.

How's that working out? :p

Well we haven't had 10,000 requests for System Shock 2, so not too badly.
the only decent clean-up of the wishlist would be to erase it completely and start it again. It's so crap-bloated that any attemp to purge it can only drive you crazy and make you start worship Hastur.

That only means it starts all over again.
Lack of time from GOG is probably the main issue why the wish list is a mess.
Redundant entries should be removed.
The view should be extended to more than the top 10, should show the last x entries as it does now and should show a random selection which isn't show in the other 2 lists.
Perhaps some kind of pending system for new entries should be installed.
Another option could be a kind of report function to report entries.

Well, as long as we're only talking about removing the titles that have already been released on GOG, I could do that in 15 minutes, given access to their database. So I don't think it's that they don't have time for it, they probably just don't see it as a big issue.

Probably the best way would be to erase the old one and make new game database build and maintained by GOG staff and all additional game suggestions would have to go thru their screening before being added.
If GOG want to employ someone to help clean it up by clearing out the crap, the games already here and consolidate all the entries with typos, I'm available
Just saying...

You're not planning to take all the votes for stuff like Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Windows 95, various console games, and games already here and put them into Planescape: Torment, are you? I mean... that may be seen as slightly dishonest.
Not that I wouldn't approve, mind you.
