First post on GOG Forums, hi. I was wondering if you are going to make us able to buy the game CLAW, or Captain, A very beloved game from my childhood, would love to be able to play it again. Regards

Welcome to gog. You wallet just came home from a rewarding paycheck and wouldn't you know it, it's bulimic. Time to belch all that money out...

Ah yes, Captain Nataniel J. (Joseph) Claw. Great game, well worth being here. The problem is, most of the time the rights for games are so divided and conflicted that it's nigh on impossible to get full permission to sell it here (I know, crazy, it's like they hate money or something). Usually there are contracts in the way, or non-compliant studios or distributors. But Gog staff is always on the prowl, so don't worry.

(pssst... or you can try googling for kapitan pazur... didn't hear it from me)

Damuna: Before making your second post, would it be possible for you to read the stickies?

Claw is abandone ware. You can find it in both CD ISO format and minimal format (cut scenes removed) here:

GoG really needs an official PM service.

The guy comes in and makes an honest request to make an honest game purchase and gets ass for it.

So I just gave him the gray-area alternative.

Just abiding by the rules. The staff has removed links to abandonware versions before.

I've posted this link before in a few other threads.

Official PM feature would help to avoid controversy.
I got a copy of this game for free from a friend at a forum. It's an Israel release, complete with Hebrew writing on the CD. I played it for a while and it was interesting, but it hated my gamepad.

I imagine part of the problem with getting the game here is the enhanced DVD version... and even so, which version to include? The final patched version which lowers the difficulty, or the one that's harder to beat?

Abandonware is not "gray area". It's very much black-and-white. If it's not freeware/shareware, it's illegal to distribute it freely. Games aren't like certain pieces of music that become "Public Domain" after the artist has been dead for a few hundred years.

Easier than starting a "Will GoG ever get game X?" thread in a forum where starting threads like that get the gas face. *shrugs*

"Google first, GoGle later."

Keep posting links like that and you won't have to worry much about posting threads anymore.
Poor guy, his first post and probably his last.

I usually see someone start a thread like this and pounding them over the head with TOS isn't the first thing that comes to mind.

The first thing that comes to mind is that it is someone new to GoG that wanted to get to know the community by starting a conversation involving his favorite old game.

You have to use a little empathy sometimes.

Lot's of bullies man, lots of bullies.
