Waking Mars for only $1.99 + Tex Murphy Series, Simon the Sorcerer, and many more 70% off!

Waking Mars, an exploration-focused platformer in which you discover and tend to a robust ecosystem in Martian underground caves, celebrates its second anniversary. To cellebrate it, the game (which comes with the addition of full soundtrack) is available 80% off. That's only $1.99 for the entire week. It’s creators, a small indie team working under the label Tiger Style, were kind enough to answer a few of our questions about inspirations, game design, and the transition from AAA development into core indie scene. You can read the interview in GOG.com Blog.

Now, let's move on to our [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/classic_adventures_weekend_promo_280214]Classic Adventure Cruise Weekend Promo with landmark adventure games available whole 70% off. You can stay in the Martian landscape for a little bit longer with Tex Murphy, the fedora-and-trenchcoat PI of the grim future. All of the classic adventure games with that fan-favorite character are available for $2.99 each, except for the first two bundled together for just $1.79. Or, if you prefer fantasy and comedy to Sci-Fi gloom and doom, you can't go wrong with Simon the Sorcerer, Simon the Sorcerer 2, and Simon the Sorcerer 3D This cherished series of adventure classics is known for its tongue-in-cheek humor, devious puzzles, and countless allusions to popular fantasy books, games, and movies. While the first two games use hand-crafted pixel-art graphics and a traditional point-and-click interface with clickable on-screen commands, the third one takes Simon’s misadventures into a 3D environment while retaining all (well, ok: most) of its predecessors’ charm. Put yourself in the pointy shoes of a young apprentice of wizardry for 70% off, this weekend only on GOG.com

That's just a small sample of the adventure lineup in Classic Adventure Cruise Weekend Promo, so make sure you visit the promo page and see what other gems can you get 70% off. The offer lasts until Tuesday, March 4, at 4:59AM GMT. The Waking Mars anniversary special lasts until Friday, March 7, at 10:59AM GMT.
oh man. i loved willy beamish. i discovered that game around the same time as monkey island 1 and wolfenstein 3d. probably my earliest happy moments with pc gaming. oh...and playing links 386 with my dad too.

which reminds me. we need a good golf game here. any tiger woods game 2004-2008 would be amazing.

Jinxtah: You're American, so you're not getting screwed over here, but understand we're not all happy little fanboys over this issue, and I don't think they particularly need you to rush to their aid with your white knighting abilities to downplay it for them.

Shaolin_sKunk: Yeah, I'm generally not affected by rape or gay marriage either so obviously I'm not allowed to have opinions on that, right?

We don't need you to drag the horse into every release/promo thread for another round of beating.
So gay marriage and rape is totally in the same ballpark as "fair regional pricing" in your book. Such epic level of deduction. Holy fuck....
Putting aside that what you just wrote was insanely stupid on a massive scale, you are basically claiming you have a right to post, but on the flip side of that coin, so do I.

Now please go away, little fanboy. Seriously.
I think you're too dumb for me to engage in any further posting with. It would be a waste of my time, so I will ignore you.

phaolo: About the discounted games, what do you think about these?
- broken sword 2,3,4 --> I loved the first (except for few ugly animations and a pair or bad puzzles); are these worth buying?
- lba 2 --> the first for me was average, clunky and difficult.. is this better?
- Atlantis 1,2,3 -> are all these really bad? They seem to share bad plot and puzzles.
- Syberia 1,2 -> average reviews, maybe both open ended.
Broken Sword 2 is pretty good, definitely recommended. 3 is somewhat of a mixed bag - for some reasons Revolution decided that introducing 3D means "include moar Sokoban puzzles", but apart from that I found it decent enough in the story department. I can't really remember any puzzles sticking out (for good or bad), make of that what you wish.

Can't say if you will like LBA 2 if you didn't like 1 - the core gameplay is similar enough. Still, 2 has a number of improvements, so maybe worth a try at this price.

I personally liked Syberia 1 a lot, haven't tried 2 yet. But it was mostly the unique setting that grabbed me there not so much the puzzles.

Jinxtah: [..]So yes on the frontpage there are 2 threads regarding this. It's only a matter of time before it's out of the spotlight and common practice, so not speaking up whenever you get an opportunity, is a mistake. [..]

phaolo: You don't seem to understand.. many of us agree with you, but you're just in the wrong place!
You need to check those threads about that topic!
No, I understand. However, what I'm saying is, if they open the door to discussion about it in the thread, then I'm going to counter post and let them know what I think about it.
They are after all a company, and I'm their repeat customer. If they don't want things discussed in certain announcements, then they should stop speaking about it in those announcements.
Hi!

Just dropped by to leave this here:

A skill not possessed by all it would seem.

Except it was a user who started the discussion. A user who also acknowledged that there are better places to discuss the issue.

You're bringing the Agriculture Simulator to GOG.com? Finally, I think that's probably one of the most wanted games ever!

Harvest Moon confirmed ;D

Well, "Harvest" for sure at least. I have a pretty good idea :)

Hope we're thinking of the same thing, and if so that we are correct. :)
Stardew Valley would be awesome. Kind of like Harvest Moon for the PC. Coming soon to a digital competitor. Would be cool if he offered a DRM free version here on GOG.

Also awesome timing on the discount. I was looking into the Tex Murphy games yesterday after hearing about Tesla Effect on RPS. Will be adding to my shelf. :D

Why not Harvester?:p

Stardew Valley looks fun. Reminds me of the first Harvest Moon, back on the SNES. Somehow I couldn't really get into the later Harvest Moon games I've tried, but this seems to capture the style and charm of the original quite well.

I'd probably buy a copy if they bring this here. And then waste far too much time playing it. :x

According to the Night Dive thread, ND has been working on getting Harvester. So, this is probably most likely.
