Sephirath: Ok, it maybe seems prozaic but it is absolutely not.

Do you have an idea how to force the game NOT TO play me the intro every single application's start? For some reasons I can skip it by smashing my keyboard only after a certain amount of time (when the old man says "Glorious, glorious..."). Maybe I'm talking only about few minutes of delay but it annoys me like hell.

Is there any way to skip the intro a little earlier or to turn it off for good?

akwater: Yes (dont recall how it was a ini file change)... However if you turn it off you stare at a blank black screen. During the intro movie it is loading the game.
I'd rather see the "Loading" screen than the intro. The screen would last for the precise time of loading, the movie lasts for its length and I can't just start the game and go make myself a cup of tea.

Go to My Documents\My Games\ Sid Meier’s Civilization 5. Find the file called “UserSettings.ini”. Once the file is open, find the “SkipIntroVideo” setting which is set to 0. Set “SkipIntroVideo” to 1 and the intro should not come up when you start the game anymore.

It helped, thanks :) I love the intro, don't be fooled by my intentions, just watching its first half for the hundreth time made me quite angry.
I am right into Civ 5 now after playing it for 20 hours. I do miss some options from earlier Civ's such as changing the ratio of cash, science etc. Also the AI is just weird Bismark asked me to help him in a war so i did and he hates me now but if i reload and say no to him he likes me.

I do have one problem with the game after a while the game slows to a crawl yet my rig is upto playing it and above the recommended but this hopefully will be fixed in a patch as well as the AI

You will be relieved to know Monty is still a prick.

I get the slowdown as well and it's the classic sign of a memory leak as quitting and restarting will improve things but not for long.
So I've decided that the game has serious flaws as well. The longer my games go, the longer the load time is. Seriously, why do I have to wait 7 minutes to load my save? And 40 seconds to load the main menu? And whenever I end turn, it seems the wait is longer and longer each time, to the point where I need to wait a whole 4 minutes or more for it to be my turn again. I'm on turn 437. (Epic length)
I've recorded 5 crashes to desktop so far.
Also the AI is really disappointing.

But I really enjoy the rest of the game. However, I think Civ 4 was better. Time to play that one.
With the game costing just $7.50 on Impulse tonight, I have to necro this. Was the final consensus that Civ V was good? Bad? Buggy?

I'd love some feedback from people that spent a good amount of time on it.

Thanks!
Really good.

It's a solid progression from IV, bringing in a lot of new concepts while keeping the general feel and familiarity of the game. If you liked Civ IV, you'll like Civ V. I encountered very few bugs.

It's fantastic, may take some getting used to as far as the changes but, I feel all in all most people got stuck in the one more turn mind set :).

I know I spent 2 days last year while on vacation playing the game (Yes.... two days while on a vacation away from Iraq... when I should have been having a good time, and seeing the world and what not. /sigh I'm an addict.)

The game is more than worth 7.50. It is a great game. My only problem is I've played it so much and I don't think there is an expansion coming, so I'm kinda bored of it.
