I'll be surprised if they don't put *any* form of manual in the box. I'd be expecting the Steam guff, the introductory sections and the tables at the back for units etc. to be included.
I've been a Civmaniac from the beginning. Can't possibly remember how many hours I've put into Civ1 and all following titles. Also I respect Sid Meier for delivering quality time after time.
But Civ 5 will wait.
Releasing additional maps and leaders as DLCs? However one might have seen Dragon Age and the complete / incomplete / removed and sold separately as DLC discussion - this just feels rather blatantly as such for me and I won't go down that road.
So I'll wait for that ultimate edition. Since that means about one year or more, I'll probably hold back a little longer until it's on sale for under 25 bucks. Sorry Sid.

There is a brief guide.
I won't be buying it and i've been a fan since colonization.
The reason -> i don't agree with Steam pure and simple it was a wrong move by the company.
Loving the game... definitely more combat focused though, even with a cultural or science victory in mind you need to expand and conquer to get the resources you need and fend of combat happy AI.

The combat is ten times better done though, so it's all good.
