Oh, great news! Thank You, WEC employee.;>
Let's hope it'll have even more options than before.
Hm, makes me want to install Civ 4, since nothing interesting came out..;)
DO WANT!
Hopefully you don't need gazillion troops in this one.
Hex-based? Interesting...

Sid311: Hex-based? Interesting...

Seems like they should have switched to hex ago, right?
Whoa, awesome news!
I really wasn't expecting it this year. Guess we'll have to keep an eye on Sid Meier on GDC, maybe he will debut some gameplay there. ;)
Certainly something interesting to follow. I currently consider Civ IV to be the best of the series, so it will be interesting to see what changes they make. Hex-based and ranged capability (you can see archers firing across a lake in on shot) will shake things up a bit.
The big unknown, of course, will be 2K's plans for DRM, so I can't let myself get too excited.

I certainly am not complaining. It's just that for almost two decades, the series has been square-based. This just feels unusual.

Yeah, IMO this will be the only Con for Civ5.
The game will have an integrated "community hub", and it will have LAN and hotseat support.
Those pictures looked pretty.
I doubt they will repeat the same rubbish we saw GTAIV.
Oh, my life... it's going to be gone when this game hits.
Oh, just... curse you, Civ. Curse you for stealing away my life.
Sweet merciful crap, YES!
Holy poop, we've gone to hex-grids! :D YAAAAAAAAAY!
Now they just need to bring back the throne room/castle building and I'll be the happiest GOGer ever.

I'm not too concerned about it actually. Just look at the last compilation release. They actually marketed it "NO DRM" as a feature. I got me to rebuy the whole series of 4 just for that feature alone.
