I don't think anyone has paid any attention to this:
"All Cinemaware games will come with original manual scans, box art, music files and when possible other bonus content available at the time of their original release."

Does that mean that there will be box scans as extras? That would be the first time for GOG, right?
Hopefully that doesn't mean that there will be a barely visible scanned cropped box image in the GOG shelf, as that would be very anti-climatic...
Well, now that this is happening, I've got to ask. As someone who a) never played amiga games, thus not having the nostalgic angle and b) is mostly interested in plot of games, and not so much on the crazy hard score attack angles,

are there any amiga games I should watch out for? I saw the video someone posted a while earlier, comparing amiga Vs PC, and honestly nothing looked interesting to me.

And let's be honest, I had an amstrad and I loved "The mummy", however, I wouldn't play it now more than a couple minutes for the lulz.

I am afraid this will be very expensive for me.... :(

F4LL0UT: This video may give you a decent idea of how the Amiga fared against late 80's / early 90's PCs.

Geralt_of_Rivia: If that video isn't enough to convince people, there is still Turrican.

Simply ask people to show you a 2D action game on PC that is better than Turrican 1 or Turrican 2 that wasn't made at least 10 years later.

A hint for people who don't know: The Turrican games are older than Monster Bash, Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure or Secret Agent, yet these three games look, sound and play like a child's programming practice project in comparison to Turrican 1 or 2.

If more Amiga games are to come to GOG then these two should definitely be among them!
I was going to make a post about this. I swear, if GOG gets the Turrican games for Amiga and popularise them beyond the brave Amiga grognards, all those hundreds of hipster "I want to make an 8-bit looking platformer" kickstarter projects can just roll over and die.
I;ll just leave and [url=https://www.gog.com/forum/general/release_defender_of_the_crown/post75]this here.

I am thinking in the long run and not just about this game.

To me you described most Cinemaware games. In their time, they were supposed to be "movie games" where the gameplay part was mainly toned down (mainly consisting of simple mini-games here and there, some dialog choices, and maybe some light strategic gameplay), and the main attraction was great visuals and music/audio.

Most of them also had an ok, but cliched, story. Like the story in King of Chicago was a cliched 30s mafia story, Rocket Ranger story was apparently mainly from the Rocket Man/Rocketeer etc. If you are fine with cliched stories, they might be ok.
Yup, it is as I expected.

And what's more, this release is awful.
Necromancy at work.

Boy, did we have high hopes back then!

Boy, what a stab in the back this turned out to be!
