Hot off the press, we've just been informed via the Cinemaware press spread that the next Kickstarter is soon to appear and it's none other than another hit game; "Rocket Ranger", or as Cinemaware are now calling it "Rocket Ranger Reloaded"

Nice :D
Another big update for the gaming community, as Rocket Ranger; an action adventure game originally developed by Cinemaware in 1988 for a multitude of systems is set to be graphically overhauled through a Kickstarter campaign. Once again developed by the same company Cinemaware, "Rocket Ranger Reloaded" will return to the 1930's-40's with that authentic B-Movie Hollywood style

I finally decided to check this out with the intent of backing, but after looking things over, I think I'm going to pass.

I don't consider Rocket Ranger to be a more valuable property/game than Wings, but CW wants me to pay more to back it?

Screwing with the formula/pricing that got Wings RM backed seems rather foolish. Looking at what they've gotten so far, it looks like this one may very well fail anyway. I think I'll wait for this one to fail and maybe back it if they try again with pricing closer to the Wings RM model...
Just a slight kick to this topic. The kickstarter is reaching it's final hours and is still a bit short on backers. ;-) So like Cinemaware mentioned in this post only 120 people with 19$ each are needed!

I played the demo and I liked it so I would like to see this happen! :)
I'm kinda interested in the remake, but not enough to break my rule of not entering Kickstarters.

With my luck, it will be Steam-only, and require always-online internet connection for social features and crap like that.

If it becomes reality and holds to its promises, yeah I'll probably buy it.

Hehe, it's ok. :) It will appear on GOG though! ;) In their tier descriptions: 'STEAM and GOG keys!'.
Only 9 hours to go and $1858 left. :) They added iOS and Android support as well! :D

I dont know if this is good or bad news.... lowering the game standard to the lowest common demoninator?.

Not worried about this. Ive backed a lot of KS and most have coughed up a drm free version (those that said Steam only and had dodgy vague comments about drm free i just cancelled) -- not going ahead with this one as i need the $$$ for some else right now :(
