Good morning guys. I just saw that you can buy chrome on steam and if i am not mistaken it is made buy the same people that made the call of juarez series. At the time of it's release i did not pay a lot of attention to it but because i really liked call of juarez, i am really tempted to buy the pack on steam.
Here are my questions:
1. Is chrome worth playing because i remember it having mixed reviews
2. It looks like a game that might be released here and also the price tag seems a bit like it should be on GOG. Basicly what i am asking: what are the chances that I buy it today on steam and see it tuesday here?? I would prefer buying it here so if any gogteam member is awake it would be a good time to give me a subtile hint ;) ;)
It's pretty much an average shooter IMO.
I got Chrome from GamersGate a few months back essentially for free (using Blue Coins), it's not a bad game. But it's certainly nothing amazing either. Personally, knowing what Steam is like with sales, you might best of waiting as it's highly likely to see a $2 sale at some point.
As for seeing it on GOG, well Steam list the publisher as Meridian 4 and GamersGate list it as Techland, neither of which appear to already be on GOG. So it's not that likely that the games will suddenly turn up on GOG next week. Of course, you never know. So it's always going to be a gamble.
The Gamersgate version is more expensive, but it's DRM free, in case you care about that sort of thing. Or rather, it is Gamersgate's special type of DRM free, which isn't really DRM free at all -- but you can get a DRM-free copy if you backup the installation folder while the installer is running.
I will join the average shooter camp. But I cant say its not worth it - its fun to play, gameplay is varied... Theres just nothing special about it. Thats not necessarily a bad thing, however.
Exactly. There's nothing wrong with "an average <insert genre here>". It all depends on what lookout you have. As long as you don't expect the second coming of Christ in FPS form, you'll probably have an enjoyable experience.
I'll probably buy it then. I don't like DRM but steam DRM is something I can live with...
I think it was very boring. In fact, the only thing I can remember that it was scripted in Java or something.
Thought you mean Google Chrome. Oh well...
If your are not expecting much, in any field, you can have a fun time. The game is average, but has some nice set pieces.
For cheap thrills, get it, for a game which is going to hook you, not so much.
Hmm $7.99, for the Chrome and SpecForce Bundle... I've never played it, but it is the game that made Techland be known, then after it they got famous by releasing Call of Juarez 1 and 2.
There's Call of Juarez 2: Bound in Blood for $9.99 on Impulse right now, if you like the wild west gameplay. I would get CoJ 2 on Impulse, and wait for a sale for the Chrome bundle.
EDIT: Just a warning, CoJ 2 uses TAGES - 3 Machine Activation Limit.
