so Chick-fil-A donates some money to lobbyists who want to keep marriage between a man and a woman. If you don't despise this and think it is true evil at its core, then fine. But you are only punishing yourself by denying your taste buds of yummy and delicious chicken from heaven itself. In America, gun ownership has been declared a right by the constitution. There are literally hundreds of corporations that donate money to the anti-gun lobby. I am pro-gun rights, but I am not going to boycott Kmart because they threw their hat in the ring with Michael Moore. Kmart has good prices on things...and besides, the sure as hell wouldn't miss me if I stopped going there.
Do yourself a favor. Leave your politics at home and go get some of those Chick Fil-A nuggets.

That's morally no different from kicking somebody out because you don't like his skin color.
Bah, their chicken is not worth going out of your way for, and their tendency to force their religion down their customers' throats is straight out of the 17th Century.

The very notion that Christianity or Judaism has any sort of "monopoly" over marriage is absurd. These idiots don't deserve a shred of credibility until they start crusading against seafood restaurants that serve shellfish and stores that sell clothing made of mixed fabrics (Biblically just as horrible as homosexuality). Do yourself a favor. Leave your politics at home and go get some of those Chick Fil-A nuggets.
Integrity and Principle, to me, are more important than getting to eat something that tastes good. Whether they miss me or not (they won't) is irrelevant.

deelee74: Call it what you want. I call it having the balls to stand by your beliefs without bowing to the political correctness movement that says you can't have a negative opinion of anyone's lifestyle. They are a Christian corporation that tries to set an example for other Christian-based businesses. they don't even open on Sundays, the day most families go out to eat in America. I admire them AND love their food.
1st... Political Correctness is a bullshit slur used by the right to slander anyone who calls them out on their bigotry. 2nd... I say you can have any negative opinion of anyone's lifestyle you want. I, for example, have a very negative opinion of the Christian Right's legacy of hate and bigotry. If all they did was sit in their little tax exempt churches are bitch about how much they hate gay people, then I'd have no problem with it. Instead, they, in defiance of their own savior's message, stick their noses into everyone else's bedroom through political action... and vocal opposition is the right thing for the rest of us to engage in.
3rd... Your statement is this... You are in favor of Chick-Fil-A's management expressing their opinion, but opposed to any expression of an opposing opinion... You call it political correctness. We call that hypocrisy.
4th... In reference to your next post... If you don't think homosexuality is true evil at its core, it is likely because you are an enlightened individual, as opposed to a knuckle dragging cretin.

lukipela: i dont support hate mongers nor do i support anyone who supports hate mongers. Its not hypocrisy, its integrity.
Okay... I'll bite... Who is supporting hate mongers (aside from those donating money to anti-gay hate groups)? The hypocrisy is in supporting one side's right to exert their political position while opposing the other side's right to respond.

lukipela: This is a simple political issue the same way killing jews in the 40's was a political issue.
You mean hugely political, then? And by definition of our Constitution there is no political right to financially support the oppression of any rights; you can give aid to whoever wants to talk about it as much as they want, but to actively work to suppress it as law is a no-no.

lukipela: You must be one of the willfully blissful. The hypocrisy is in supporting one side's right to exert their political position while opposing the other side's right to respond.
When you can stop pretending this simply a political issue, that Chik Fil A just wants to exert its political right to...financially support the oppression of civil rights... we can talk. Basically, I dont think you are intelligent enough to understand the topic.
This is a simple political issue the same way killing jews in the 40's was a political issue.
You surely do spend an awful lot of time writing your grammar impaired one liners, as if you give a shit about having a discussion, then simply refusing to engage while not so subtly implying that whomever you are responding to is somehow beneath your allegedly massive intellect.
An intellect, I'll add, that I've seen no evidence of whatsoever. Your words impart a staggering degree of insecurity due to your desperate demand that we all bow to this alleged superior intelligence of yours. I'd bow to it, if you ever proved it. But alas, you won't even try.
Your attempt to invoke Godwin was adorable, but to equate political lobbying with the Holocaust is, on its face, laughable. However, there was nothing I wrote that implied that I did not think Chick-Fil-A was financially supporting "the oppression of civil rights." I was calling out the other poster's opposition to defying that oppression.
But whatever... you can just sit in your mother's basement, awash in the blue-green glow of your monitor, pounding out your angry missives, rubbing fecal matter on your bare chest, and howling at the moon. I have no need to further engage with a troll, especially when so many brighter and more civil people reside in these forums.
So there it ends. I'm done with you. Go ahead and get your last word in with your inevitable jab at my oh-so-obvious mental inferiority. Then you can crown yourself King of the Internet and sleep easy for having earned the right to gloat.
I, on the other hand, will simply have to satisfied with only being engaged with the remaining 99.9% of this fine community.

HoneyBakedHam: We aren't taking about food... we are talking about it... and last I checked, the Swiss have one cheese, a cuckoo clock, and a pocket knife with a spoon on it...
Get back to me when you invent anything as awesome as BBQ or Jazz.

Cheese, cuckoo clock, swiss army knife (which offers much more then a spoon), fantastic chocolate (I had the chance to visit and taste Hershey's offerings with a few friends when I was over there - Hershey became instantly our swearword for all and everything), fondue, bathyscaphe Trieste (the only manned vessel to have reached the bottom of the deepest known part of the Earth's oceans), HTTP/HTML (invented at CERN in Geneva)...... Get back to me when you invent anything as awesome as BBQ or Jazz.

against baseball, american foorball, burgers and BBQ (can't count Jazz as you stole it from the afro-americans as well as the Blues and Rock'n Roll)....
PS: of course you're teasing as much as I do - way too much in and coming from America to not love it ;)

nondeplumage: Hershey's is only allowed to call what they sell chocolate because people don't know better to correct them. Hershey's is chocolate in name only.
The required % cocoa to call something chocolate is insanely low in the United States. With milk chocolate especially, they might as well list cocoa in with the natural colorings.
