You should try Psychonauts first. This game certainly warrant all the plaudit and hype. Everything about this game is unique and creative with spot on difficulty and learning curve.

See, if what you want to do is whittle down your backlog, you have to play games that are fun, short, and engaging from the getgo. Now, while I don't know the details of all these games you listed, I do know RPG's and empire builders don't fit that list.
Whenever I play one of those types of games, its time consuming and I get involved in it. By the time I'm done with it, I would've bought more games that may have happened on sale during the time I was playing that one game.

So, long story short - play short, fun games that engage you to shorten your list by 5 in a relaively small period of time.

I do not want to do that. I wan to check games which are worth playing. This is only for checking games I had never played before. Not actually completing them. That might happen after I do all seven. Or maybe not.

I feel like this is a good blend of genres so that you can try them each out without getting burned out on one particular genre in the process (and thereby maybe affecting your opinion on latter games.)
