Bloodygoodgames: Yep, I made the mistake of buying a couple of games on D2D. They're probably still there but I haven't been on the site in eons, not since GameFly took them over. Awful company and now-terrible site.

fr33kSh0w2012: What Pisses me off is they are Digital downloads for Christs sake so why the Hell do they feel the need to region lock them even amazon does this it just isn't fair.
You're screwed living in Australia. Here in Thailand nothing is technically 'locked' as if it's region specific and I can't legitimately buy it online, there are at least 100 bootleg stalls near my house (and I'm not kidding what I say 100 stalls) where I can buy almost every computer game ever made.

Last resort for me if I can't buy it legitimately --- and no, I don't feel guilty as I did TRY to pay for it :)

You need to take a trip to Bangkok :)

I take no credit for these links as another GOGer pointed me in their direction.

http://indiegamebundle.wikia.com/wiki/Indie_Game_Bundle_Wiki
This is a very useful site as they update with a large number of current bundles available and even list the platforms and DRM status of the games.

http://www.humblebundle.com/
They often sell games DRM free as well as with Steam keys. Their weekly sales can be very good such as the Alan Wake PWYW.

http://www.indieroyale.com/
You will need to check the platform details below each game, but these are often DRM free.

http://groupees.com/
Again you will need to check to make sure that a game is DRM free, but most of the time they do both DRM free, and keys.

https://indiegamestand.com/
They supply the three major platforms, are cheap, often include keys and I believe they are all DRM free.

http://www.gamersgate.co.uk/
You need to be careful and read the DRM status of games. You can once your DRM free games has finished downloading change it's installer into a permanent backup on your system.

http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Humble_Store
This site lists nearly all of the games sold by Humble Bundle, along with their DRM status and price making the entire action of buying games from them a little easier.

http://www.gog.com/
You already know that here is always DRM free and reasonably priced.

Bloodygoodgames: I own around 70 games on GamersGate and at least 50 percent don't work at all or I had major problems installing them. Needless to say, I haven't bought a game there in a year.

Many games on GG don't work correctly and, as a company, they don't give a toss once they have your money. In fact, there's no customer service to speak of as the replies you get take days and are almost always useless. Then it's up to you to find a fix on their forums -- IF someone on their forums knows how to fix it that is.

I currently have 4 games I bought from GG that won't play at all on either of my computers no matter what I try. At least 20 others gave me huge problems, and two of those would never have worked if someone on GOG hadn't given me a complicated fix that works.

GG has also now gone to just about 'Steam only, all of the time' and when I sent an email to their customer service asking why they were 'selling out' all I got back was something on the lines of "Shit happens" but more politely :)

I haven't bought anything on GG in a year and won't now. I'd also love to be able to get rid of the games I do own there and rebuy them on GOG or DotEmu but, once even attempted to download, you're stuck with them -- whether they work or not.

By the way, I used to be a HUGE GamersGate fan, even promoted them on my website and did free GamersGate giveaways. With all the problems I've had with their games and with their general We Don't Care About Our Customers As Long As We Get Your Money attitude, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone anymore. Sad as they once seemed like an extremely good viable option to GOG :(
I've never had any of those problems with Gamersgate for the most part (Company of Heroes didn't work though so I stopped buying games from them years ago after that when I then bought CoH from Steam and it worked just fine). In my experience they still seem pretty good with indies/smaller releases(I like the shmups and japanese games they get that never come to GOG).

zer00o: In the last month I’ve been here I’ve already discovered these two places from looking through the forums and I'm looking for more.

http://www.shinyloot.com/nordic-games-sale
Note that ShinyLoot is not a DRM-free site. According to their about page "The hardest form of DRM you will find on ShinyLoot is a one-time CD-Key validation for single player games".

They do notify you if there is one, same as Desura.

Dzsono: GamersGate is *almost* DRM free. I think they bend the truth a little. The installer verifies itself against your account when installing, which means you can't install the DRM free game while offline...
I wouldn't call that DRM-free at all. If the service and/or account disappears and you have to reinstall or upgrade your computer, you don't have the game anymore. Because of DRM.
I've had a good experience with Desura so far, where I mostly buy new indies that are DRM-free. They do a good job of providing updates, and I have yet to encounter a download where I needed to install their client (all had direct download links). Might be different for other users who buy big-name or "protected" titles.
