Just realized there are other websites that offer DRM free games besides GOG. Some may have a filter where you can choose to see only DRM free games. I’m new to the DRM free scene and I’ve noticed some games on these websites are not on here (YET). Anyway, I would appreciate if you guys share some of these sites or point me in the right direction.
Now, as far as I’m concerned, steam is DRM. And I’m hoping that at some point I will be able to abandon my steam account altogether so the humble bundle, for example, is no good for me.
In the last month I’ve been here I’ve already discovered these two places from looking through the forums and I'm looking for more.

http://www.shinyloot.com/nordic-games-sale
http://www.gamersgate.co.uk/games?filter=offers,feature-12&prio=popularity

The DRM free feature is the kind of thing I’m looking for.
Thanks in advance.
Here's what I use, in order of how many games I have on them(I only buy games that are either DRM-free or have simple, non-intrusive DRM) :

-GOG
-Gamersgate
-Humble Bundle
-Indiegamestand
-Desura

NOTE: Only GOG sells DRM-free only games, all the others are mixed.

AFAIK, DotEmu is the only other retailer that is totally DRM-free. Shiny Loot, the Humble Store, and GamersGate in particualr, sell some games that are Steam only and/or have other forms of DRM.

That's similar to my order, although I have maximum prices for each service:

- GOG (maximum €20)
- Humble Store (maximum €20, provided DRM-free)
- Desura (maximum €20, provided DRM-free)
- Dotemu (maximum €20)
- Gamersgate (maximum €20, provided DRM-free)
- Steam (maximum €5)
- Origin (maximum €3)

*ahem* I don't hang out at those other sites. I think we can close this thread now.
GamersGate is *almost* DRM free. I think they bend the truth a little. The installer verifies itself against your account when installing, which means you can't install the DRM free game while offline...
I use mostly GOG and Desura with a few titles on DotEmu. Desura has a Steam-like client but it is optional for almost every game in their catalog.

Well, you can circumvent that 'DRM' with relative ease. Getting around Gamersgate's 'DRM' is the PC gaming world's worst kept secret.

Kind of raises the question what is the point of it then.

I guess the point is basically to appease the more ignorant publishers out there.

Most developers worth their salt are actually well aware that, aside from the ethical issues surrounding DRM, there are also no compelling business arguments in favour of DRM.

Unfortunately, lay stakeholders will often demand that all measures be taken to protect the "company's assets", and have often assumed in the past that DRM required the user to check in online, and was therefore uncrackable.

Leave it to reaver to trash a perfectly good thread with the truth. :P

Keep an eye on the Humble Bundle. The weekly sales "SOMETIMES" are Steam exclusive, but often are NOT.

The actual humble bundle is never Steam only. Steam keys are optional as a bonus. You can download via direct http from Humble bundle.

Edit:

No sooner do I post this and Humble has a Steam only bundle... pffft!

While it makes me less excited about checking in on them, they still provide a lot of DRM-free stuff and I like their approach.

Doesn't change the fact GG is using false advertising.
GOG and DOTEMU are the only genuine drm free stores.

The rest :

Greenmangaming - primarily a steam key reseller + flogging games on their Crapsule service (some older games can be had drm free as some are just downloaded and dont need crapsule to run)

Desura - most of the games are DRM free - they have unfortunately a small number of Steam titles. Best place to find new unique indie drm free games IMHO.

Gamersgate - most of their games are either Steamworks or has Other drm . They DO have a good number of DRM free titles tho.

Steam - definitely not DRM free, although there *is* a handful of games (mostly older titles) which are effectively drm free - can run without steam.

Shinyloot - has steam, has desura, has some drm free (mixed bag)

Humble Bundle Store - trying to appeal to everyone steam + drm free + the odd gog title

Origin - in terms of drm probably worse than Steam, fewer titles but certain bigger titles only sold on here
