As we informed you earlier this week, today we're hosting a live Q&A with CD Projekt RED Senior Producer Tomasz Gop about The Witcher 2. Because the link and the password for the stream has appeared around the web (that's shocking! :)) we decided to let you guys, our beloved community, know how to log in to the stream and join us during the Q&A. The stream begins today at 5:00 p.m. GMT and you can attend it by visiting this link and entering the password: goodoldgames. We'll be revealing some cool stuff and you'll be able to ask your own questions as well, so don't miss it out.

EDITED: 7.20 PM Warsaw time
We've finished the Live Q&A now, guys. Thanks a million for all of you who showed up and asked questions. If you missed your chance at the live version, you can still see the video (and all of the awesome stuff that we talk about in it) by going to http://www.ustream.tv/channel/the-witcher-2-live-q-a and watching the recording.

Remember: if you heard us answer your question on Ustream, please be sure to drop us a note at users@gog.com with your user name, the question we answered, and what game title you'd like to receive from the GOG catalog. Please note this includes current games only, and can't be redeemed for The Witcher 2.
That was great, new geralt is looking good :) If any mods are around is there any chance some unanswered questions could be answered in the forums here?
Well,...that was very nice and interesting!
Now I anticipate TW2 even more than before.

edit: and i want that shirt... ;o)

A great Q&A session. I wish more developers could do something like that.

By the way, I'll be giving away some free codes for the Witcher 2 on these forums on the 17th of May (as many as I can afford, basically), and I urge others to join me in doing the same. The Witcher 2 needs to sell, and it needs to sell a lot. Together, we can make that happen.
Observations on combat.

-clearly rolling is going to be required. GOP got torched several times; it seems there is no other way to avoid it. No wonder other gameplay vids featured lots of rolling.

-there were times when Geralt was targeting enemies off screen...O_o how is the camera going to work so we a have a few of the battle field? Right now this looks broken.

-did he use hot keys to switch swords? I hope so. We could do it in TW1.

-Gop dismissed the question regarding how disorienting the cut scenes are during combat. He even got a little pissy about it. I agree with the poster: the cut scenes are a serious distraction.

Too many ppl there, spamming a lot. I had a decent question but it was drowned in the middle of the other users' jabbering T_T

The game images and gameplay were incredible. The game sheer size (2-DL dvds!) will be a challenge for downloaders ^^;

Thank you for the awesome Q&A!
That was so awesome. Great fun and affirmation of my love for CDProjekt/GOG. Truly you guys are awesome! : )
Thanks for the Q&A :D was really fun!
And like Skystrider said, I wish every developer cared so much for their fan base.
We also took off the password when we set the archived video to play. So you don't have to enter in the pw anymore. Go and watch! :D
Thanks for the nice session, I got my question answered so I'll go and pick a free game.. very nice.

I had another question though, I don't know if it's been answered somewhere... Will the NPC in the witcher 2 have somekind of radial AI (like in Oblivion) or will they have pre-set paths and routes which they'll be following according to their timetable like in the witcher 1?

FlintlockJazz: You have been recognised Roman! :P
I'm pretty lucky to have my question answered I think, this was right before the chat got a wave of new users and the chat god flooded with answers

This is the second time I got my question answered by GOG.com staff! This really means a lot to me, I can't think of any other place where the people who work on the DD service and Games are so close to their users

Really though, many thanks to you guys!
Bah! I missed it. I hate time zones.

That was my thought. I realize that GOG is located in Poland, but given the size of the customer base in the US, I'm not sure how much sense it made putting it so early in the morning. Starting at 5:00 GMT is either too late or too early to be practical for people on the west coast.
I actually got my question answered, but they stopped saying the names at some point. I'm the only one who asked the question, so I hope I get a game.

I'm not 100% sure about the rules however here is some text copied right from their newsletter regarding this event

"We'll be answering your questions about The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, and if we choose to answer your question, you'll get a coupon code good for any game currently avaiable in GOG.com's catalog!"

Take what you will from that

Better yet, it would be even better if a GOG.com staff member could clear up regarding the rules of the contest and who will recieve a free game if their name has been called out or not
