Help a London Child provides opportunities to more than 120,000 less advantaged and vulnerable children and young people living in our city. London is not only one of the wealthiest cities in the world, but it is also home to children experiencing abuse, poverty, homelessness, disability, and illness. Help a London Child specialises in funding grass roots projects and supporting their work to improve the lives of these children.
Did you know I'm raising funds for Help a London Child by doing the fundraising event:
Tandem Skydive!
I have just created an online fundraising page through DoItForCharity.com and would like you to sponsor me with an online donation. Sponsoring is easy just follow the link below to my very own fundraising page and follow the easy 3 step process:
http://www.doitforcharity.com/Nicholas
If you're a friend or colleague and a UK tax payer then don't forget to add Gift Aid to your donation which allows charities to receive even more valuable funds.
Online donations make it easy for friends and family, as well as chosen charities, to fundraise so visit my page today and give as much as possible!
Kind Regards
Nicholas Millar

nmillar: Apologies in advance if this breaks any of the forum rules, but it's for a good cause.

What forum rules?
It's like lord of the flies in here!

I'll have to disregard that comment; you're not holding the conch!
My fundraising strategy doesn't seem to be working too well so far; only got £55 towards my £425 target; anyone got any ideas to help raise the money?
Well, I don't know if it will help, but I posted the link on Facebook for my friends to view.

Thanks! I knew I could count on members of the GOG community! :)
Giving this another bump; £60 towards the total of £425 has been raised so far - that's 15% of my target already!
Even if you can only afford a few pence, it all goes to a worthwhile cause, so please head to http://www.doitforcharity.com/Nicholas and give all you can!
OMG, I'm jumping out of a plane at 10,000 feet! That's gotta be worth something, surely? :)
Only 6 weeks to go!
Who I'm jumping for:
Plot 10, North West London
“The grants we have received from 95.8 Capital FM’s Help a London Child have greatly improved our setting and the services we provide. The new computers have been a great success with the children, they have access to a number of educational software packages and the opportunity to download information complete homework and access websites. We have also greatly improved our quiet corner making it a home from home for the children, with new sofas and T.V making it a place where the children can chill out, read watch T.V and do role play. Our new music equipment has been very popular with both staff and children giving them the opportunity to learn instruments they may not otherwise have access to, we have also had professional musicians come and teach the children guitar and drums.
I would also like to thank Capital Radio for all the support over the years as well as the variety of grants which have enriched the lives of many children over the 15 years we have worked with you”

Sorry I can't donate anything but have fun with the sky dive, if you have never been before they are awesome.
I'd love to contribute too, but can't financially. Nevertheless, thanks for doing this :)
Thanks for the positive posts above! :)

Anyway, there's now only 17 days until I take a massive leap of faith (a 10,000 ft one in fact), so if there is anyone here who can spare a little cash to help out needy children in London, then please do head to www.doitforcharity.com/Nicholas and donate whatever you can spare - even if it is only a few pennies, it all goes to a very worthy cause.

Done!

Enjoy your controlled falling.

Couldn't do it myself, terrible vertigo!
I had forgotten about this.

Have fun, nmillar. I've gone a couple of times and really enjoyed it. :)

Yeah, I think I'll probably be going for the eyes-closed technique to get round that!

Anyway, thankyou so much for your generous contribution - it really is appreciated, and hopefully Help A London Child will put the money to good use. :)

I'm now very close to achieving my fundraising target, so if you can spare a couple of £s / $s, please do so - it's all for a great cause.
