Hello everyone, sorry for making a new thread for this but I can't seem to find a thread where you can ask this,

I have got a simple question since Chaos Engine and Deadly Premonition are in my daily surprise and I can only pick one, I like to ask which one would people recommend?

I used to play Chaos Engine a lot back in the Amiga days and would love to play that again but I don't like some of the graphics changes that have been done on this new version.

And Deadly Premonition is a game I always wanted to try out. I love horror and action-adventure so it sounds like its right up my alley.

So for anyone that has played these two games which would you recommend I get?

not sure it it helps, but Chaos Engine have a 'classic mode' with the original graphics.

Well I haven't played any of them but I do know about them, The Chaos Engine like you said is an enhanced version of the game that you played so you know more than me, as far as Deadly Premonition is concerned it is a very unique and weird survival horror mystery game which although not perfect is indeed worth experiencing, it is on my list of games to get as well.

in the end I'd say it all comes down to what you value more, nostalgia with Chaos Engine or a potentially exciting new experience like Deadly Premonition.

DP is a bad port, there's a patch around tho which makes it better

As it obviously appeals to you I'd say give this one a shot.

I played a demo of Chaos Engine, I liked it at first and thought I would get the full game, but then got very bored of the demo and completely lost interest. If you already played the full game for many hours previously I'm not sure how much value you can get from it playing again.

DP is a masterpiece, but I don't know how much polish is the PC version.
Thanks everyone! After reading through each reply I decided to go with Deadly Premonition since its new to me and I like the new experience, I try to remember to get the patch/mod.

Looking at the price I may get Chaos Engine near the end of the sale since thats quite cheap.

This.
PC port is, well, not as bad as some people say :) Crashed 3 or 4 times during my 100% playthrough and there was a problem with aiming up or down (this should be solved by the patch). Other than that - great experience!
Well, if you're looking for the weirdest experience ever then yes, I can definitely recommend Deadly Premonition as I am playing through it right now, in fact :D

At last :) How do you like it?

It's great so far, I just wish I could save anywhere. I mean have they not heard of cell phones in the game? :D

He lost his cell in the car accident, remember? :)
But there is another cell-like device that you want to get as soon as possible. It doesn't help you save... it does something much better :)

Take the radio so you can teleport istantly where phones are :)

Where is it? I have been poking around everywhere I can but the dang game has tasks I need to do in a limited amount of time. I am just now trying to redo the community center part where you get everyone in town together to question suspects :)
