Well, I guess some people poste about this already, but iI´m surprised about the fact that that they quit all the free games from the list... And also about th fact that now Baldur´s Gate II is the number one on it... Wow.

It's hardly surprising that they'd remove the free games. Otherwise, that's all there'd be on the list.

Edit: Well, not really, since it's almost certainly a time-limited list. The interesting question is how far back it goes. A week? A month? A year?

I'm Happy for GOG and CDPRed that Witcher 2 is on the 11th spot.
Very good change. And they subtracted copies they gave away from the games like Jagged Alliance or Tex Murphy (free for a limited time).
Heh, I own all the top 17 games (in one form or another) except for Witcher 2 :)
They're still there, they've just been moved to the bottom of the list.
makes me sad a bit that BLOOD is so low...I think it should be at least in the top 10...

At least in top 10? lol

I´m a huge fan of Blood myself and I LOVE GOG´s edition of the game. It allowed me not only to play the original blood again after 13 years (!!!!!! wow....), also to play for the first time the Plasma Pack and Cryptic Passage, and those were never available here :-)
Anyway I was a bit disappointed by Plasma Pack´s poor level design (even though it have some new enemies), and I had a major surprise with Cryptic Passage; that expansion didn´t create a single new enemy for the game, and they didn´t use a single texture not present in the original one... But they made some amazing levels, some of them with a similar quality to the orginal game ones...
However... I don´t see 36 as a bad position (they have more than 350 games), GOG have great games here... And 36 is just a relative position, we don´t know how many units were sold. I would like to see it on the top 20 but... If you think about it it´s a good position. Just think in some of the great games left behind in the list.

gameon: Its great that they give us some sort of idea on game sales.

If something doesn't sell well, what happens? Do they keep it on the site for a certain amount of time and then take it off the site, or once its added, is it here "forever"?
They never removed a game because of the poor sales.

They use to keep them... As far as I know the few games taken away were because of license/legal reasons.

Well, when you take into consideration EasyTutu, Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 kinda can be counted the same game. And I'm pretty sure most people don't play completely vanilla BG1.

Not so sure. Id guess most people would like to try it vanilla first...

Interesting. Gothic 3 is at the bottom of the list just above the free games ;).

That makes sense, it's one of those BOG's alongside other stinkers like Might & Magic 9 and Master of Orion 3.

I think they didn't substract - just list is based on recent sales. Why do I think so? For example MoO3 is higher than Thief - weird isnt it?

Because Broken Sword was just above Planescape Torment / Baldur's Gate 2 before those changes, and now it's lower on the list.

And other games they gave away also went down (Tex Murphy, Earth 2140, Jagged Alliance).

And list isn't based on actual sales, it shows all sales (since it was introduced).
