Hi,

First post. As I am just getting started with GOG, one of the first things that came up was how to change the default folder that GOG uses to install games. I first searched here for a solution, but did not find one, so I am adding this post.

If you do not want to change the target folder each time, the value for the default folder is kept in the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GOG.com\DefaultPackPath

which you can modify to match the desired location.

Hello. Are you still using the old GOG installers? The new ones remember the last location you installed another GOG game. For example, the folder I use to install my games is "C:\Games" and every new GOG installer defaults to this location.

Hey, thanks.

I am using the latest software.

I noticed the default install foider on my very first game install and thought I'd need to change it every time, so I went ahead and 'solved' the issue before proceeding with that one, then made my post. Good to know that the installers now default to the last used; good idea.

Now I am going to enjoy all my Soul Reaver games again!! (BTW, SR fans should check out Nosgoth, which is in alpha testing and promised a stellar return to Raziel's world.
