Zacron: My points are valid, and please give me a rebuttal if you disagree.
I will not disagree, but I will provide a link.

Origin has a 70% of everything sale.
Zacron: I also disagree with the philosophy behind DLC, but I am at war with myself anyway, ..... I know I am playing right into their hands when I do this, but, to me, it really is worth it. ...... (Cue people jumping on my case for admitting that I am greedy)
I wouldn't as DLC I believe is a personal choice, ultimately it's not detrimental to the game industry, it's simply a pain in the ass.
It is, and always will be, a (e.g. Steam) companies monopolisation of games with they did not produce (e.g. Skyrim) that causes issues. Steam can monopolise DOTA like EA can Monopolise Titanfall, but the moment I purchase a game from a company which is not affiliated with these distributors but requires their software to run, I take offence.
Zacron: You may not call me an idiot,
I would never do such a thing, the term I tend to use is 7 second retard ....... which I really must stop using as sayings like that leave a trail all over the internet.
As a show of good faith I'll link one of my account profiles for you, probably the one attached to this nametag as it has a modest amount of games and sees occasional usage. Almost every game I have was purchased in physical form, directly from the developer where possible.
(
http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197999513700) *notice my secret number .... Steam, useless as a flower in hells fires.
And I'll also attach a quick screenshot of the games I hold on this GoG account, so you can see I don't discriminate. Here is the day I hit 666 games, though the collection grew as you can tell by the next screenshot.
Have I played all these games?
Barely enough time to play more than a few hours a month.
Why do I have the same games purchased multiple times?
Shadowrun would be a prime example of this, I've purchased it at least 10 times through various distributors for various accounts and to gift to friends. I do this because I support them, they don't distribute only through Steam or Origin. I purchase crap loads of games (I'll never have time to play) from GoG because their methods of retail are ethical.
The point I'm making is many of us purchase more than we need, but some of us do so to support ethical companies who retail using healthy and sustainable policies. A person doesn't have to change their methods, but they shouldn't lie to themselves about the damage their causing to the industry by devoting themselves to the religion called Steam. *Doesn't apply in your case as your actually honest, for which I respect you and apologise if I was (or am in the future) nasty/touchy about the Steam virus.
