Anything on the Amiga by Chris Huelsbeck.

and [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGxMDxGJXuo]Turrican being highlights.
The best piece of VGM ever composed.
Am I the only person that finds similarites between Space Harrier's theme and Blake 7's?
Another great tune from the 80`s (until min 2´30´´´), sadly I couldn´t find Atari st version, but the Amiga one have a similar sound quality.

And others from original Castlevania. When listening to it, I can almost hear the sounds of killing monsters/breaking candles at certain points :)
Turbocharge

Commando
Another great one

(the Atari St version sound was much better)

I´ve noticed that all of you are posting 8 bit machines music. Most of them are very catchy, but there is a huge diference in sound quality betwen Atari St and Amiga and the rest of computers of that time. We must recognize that many composers made a great work with all the limited resources they had.

Cannon Fodder
Xenon 2

Just of the top of my head, there are tons more.
Star Control II - The Melnorme
Ocarina of Time - Gerudo Valley theme

Banjo-Kazooie - Click Clock Wood (spring)

Banjo-tooie - Witchyworld
Vampire Killer (Castlevania)
and The Legend of Zelda score the highest for me

But I also liked the soundtrack to Rygar (NES version)

Reactor (80's Coin op)

Here's a remixed techno version, couldn't find anything playing the original but this will give you an idea.
