The story follows a young US Army Captain and a British Special Agent on a top secret mission to Castle Wolfenstein

So I'm guessing the British Special Agent will be a woman, so they can shoehorn in a romance element to the story. Because that's exactly what a movie about fighting Nazis and the paranormal really needs.

I dunno, generally they give that role to the French Resistance leader that both leads pine for so they can milk the tension betweenthe leads more.
