El_Caz: I'm not a cag and have nothing against them, but I have to admit the closest i've come to drawing maps was playing Myst, on that puzzle where you're on an undeground cart that travels on rails and you have to listen to audio cues in order to guess where you have to go.

I didn't like the experience much.
If that's in the Age I think it is, I never even made it there cause I could never get the rocket powered because of matching the piano and the little dials. :(

My IF days have a ton of maps drawn though. I get lost a lot when there aren't graphic things to look at for landmarks so I need to make maps in order to know where the hell I am. :P
i think people forget how important maps are, the mapmaking is and art1!

Taleroth: That's because cartography isn't natural. Maps don't grow on trees. You have to cut down the tree, turn it into paper, then draw on the paper.

You have to draw on dead things. It's disgusting.

dr.zli: I try to use only natural made colors and recycled paper, I'm also right handed and love to smell old paper and books so...
lol hahaha
As a non-cartographer by the bindings of my intense religious beliefs, this thread is deeply offensive to me. I hate you TheJoe. How dare you instruct me to BUY THE GUILD in every single post you make, when you're the very reason that maps plague our global society. We non-carties will continue to wander as our guider preaches, while the rest of you reach your destinations with your blasphemous tools.
He really does like THE GUILD, doesn't he.

What do you expect? He is a cartographer after all.
I told you all that we need a separate forum, so if anyone from gog is reading please acknowledge that cartographers should get their separate forum so we can congreagate freely and not offend anyone who isn't into our lifestyle. Please, beore this wonderfull post degenerates into a hate/flame war
I've drawn maps of several of the old Infocom text adventures, though I remember Planetfall in particular. I've also drawn maps of some of the labyrinths in Zak McKracken.

Damn you and your maps, I will ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to purchase one more game from GOG if cartography is supported on this website. I thought we could live in peace, but it looks as if GOG is just becoming another pit of cartpunks.

and what about WOW, do you play it? DO YOU? If a game of such caliber could give me tools to live my lifestyle and be what I am why can't you?
I think that you need to look deep inside yourself, that outburst is just your fear reaction because imho, you would like to do a little cartography with all of us here. Admit it, no shame in it.

The Guild is valued by cartographers due to its lack of cartography. It's a nice break, really.
