A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White, a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother, who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.
Godzilla

An upcoming American science fiction monster film featuring the Japanese film monster of the same name in a reboot of the Godzilla film franchise. The film retells the origin of Godzilla in contemporary times as a "terrifying force of nature" in a style faithful to the Toho series of Godzilla films.
I think I'm pondering what you're pondering, but will 3 oak doors and a jar of pickles be enough?

For one second I thought you were talking about the dreamcast survival horror game but then I recalled it was carrier :P

Narf! Zort! Poit!
Goat Simulator

A practical use of the fact that decades of observations have shown:
People like to do total bullshit in virtual worlds no matter how useless they may seem.
A Nightmare on Elm Street

A re-imagining of the horror icon Freddy Krueger, a serial-killer who wields a glove with four blades embedded in the fingers and kills people in their dreams, resulting in their real death in reality.
Total Recall

A reimagining of a trip to Mars that never took place. Or did it? The heck I know.

BTW, when it comes to "Carrie", there was already an earlier reimagining of the original Carrie movie in 2002:

It was ok I guess, but I still preferred the original. I guess classic movies need to be re-imagined over and over again for the new generations.

When do we get a Disney version of Carrie?

I remember another "reimagining" with some dark haired chick. I saw it on tv once a long time ago, it had some tattoo thing (tatoos growing out of her when she goes nuts) if I'm not mixing it up with something else.
The PR for the new movie was awesome though:

what about it?
The Thing

Something about stuff happening somewhere.
The Thing Called Love

Something about stuff happening somewhere called love.
The Postman

A reimagining of a badly written book into a critically abysmal movie that is both loved and hated by its general audience. The titular character accidentally reimagines a new United States after it has fallen in order to eat, but in turn jeopardizes the relative stability of the land and the lives of his benefactors in order to maintain his food-bearing deceit.

(I for one love that movie, even with the spotty acting and line delivery)
Jason X

Jason Vorhees gets cryogenically frozen and wakes up in space in the future.
