This is a repost from Grimrock specific forum to reach a wider audience:

Hello everyone,

For those of you, who don´t know about this game: "Cardhalia is a grid-based dungeon game we created quite a long time ago now. As the game was very successful in those times in Czech Republic, we were asked to create an English version so it can be played by people who doesn’t know the Czech language. We decided to proceed this idea and hope that you will appreciate it."

Enjoy!

don't
So I was going to try this but then I checked Google's Safe Browsing diagnostic for the site (standard procedure for me) and something like 10-20% of pages checked have reported malware downloads...

I downloaded the game - not a problem - however the download was painfully slow. Messed around in the first forest area and enjoy the game.
I'm currently in the sewers (2nd level), killing rats. So far so good. Amateurs of old school dungeon crawler, this game is for you.

Too bad the levers and "secret buttons" show up on the map though.

Yup, I am responsible for translation.

In regard to that: translating large amount of text which Cardhalia has was my first task of this kind and scope. When I´ve finished, I´ve already didn´t like what I´ve translated in the beginning. So I translated those parts again. After that, S.A.Y (the developer) did some finishing touches to text and implemented it into the game.

So if you don´t like translation itself, you can bash me with virtual sticks! :) Nevertheless, I did translate it to best of my abilities. If you have found some oddly translated sentences or have any questions whatsoever, feel free to drop a line in game´s forum. We all want English version to be most accurate as possible:

Half an hour into the game and I already have found few sentences translated in quirky way, which I then emailed back to S.A.Y with a plea to change them in future patch.

Hopefully you will enjoy the game.

I have nothing agsainst your translation.

But "people who doesn’t know the Czech language" - it can't be "doesn't", it should be "don't".

That's why I wrote "don't".

All right, I´ll let S.A.Y know - he wrote that :P
Is it turn-based?
Is there any item info system in the game, or are we to figure out, what edibles do what, by keeping notes?

Nirth: Is it turn-based?
Nope, it's like Grimrock, EotB and LoL1.

So it's the same grid dancing? I don't see the charm in that other than that if you're quick enough you never get hit.

There are books (herbals, etc) and other readables in the game which explains what does what , but other than that, it´s keeping notes.
