There is a mandatory car insurance (by government) in Turkey but this one is an additional insurance by private company.

TOTALLY OFF OFF OFF TPOIC but...
I had a chance to catch a British version of "COPS" and all it seemed to be was police officers nailing people for not having insurance. XD In the U.S. "COPS" is a lot of, "That 40 pounds of heroin in the trunk, is it yours?" The only time insurance gets mentioned is after they 'pit maneuver' the guy, shoot out his tires, and then say, "I hope he's covered."
