Hey there.

I can't help but notice that, in the wake of the GOG publicity stunt, the forum has seemingly degenerated into a civil war within this community. Thankfully not all are participating, but a great many are.

The problem here is that, frankly, it's starting to drown out any constructive/entertaining/other conversations, and is making us look completely irrational, even by the low standards of the internet.

Was their publicity stunt BS and wrong? Definitely. Am I miffed? I'd be lying if I said I wasn't. However, being as they're back and have at least shown some contrition, I urge everyone to at least give the company one more chance. It's a unique presence on the digital distribution scene, and one screw-up alone shouldn't send it all down the drain.

Let's all sit back, take a breath, and relax. Yelling at one another solves nothing.
Good post. I do not understand the hate.
I mean, sure, even if you think the stunt was stupid and if it deprived of your games for a few days..

does it suddenly erase all the awesome job GOG and CDProjekt have been doing for past few years? Or great game retail distribution job CDP has been doing for past 15+ years?

NO
Remember everyone, fool me once shame on you(and they apologized and are making it up to us). Fool me twice and its shame on you times two!

Atleast...thats how it goes right?

In all seriousness, I agree. Give gog.com a chance. They have not done anything to really mess our lives up. It would seem like a alot of people are acting like they have.
I just feel like yes, it's great to have more people getting into GOG it's horrible the forums have become a shithole.

I agree. Fighting is not gonna help us get out of this giant beachball
At some point, you begin scratching an itch that was beginning to fade. When new threads like this are getting started every day, it's going to continue to be on the forefront of everyone's mind. In each thread, people are rehashing what they've said in the last 3-5 threads already started on the subject.

What is gained?

Let it go. Breathe in, breathe out, move on.
You have brought love back into my cold and bitter heart. Now I shall devote my life to charity and the betterment of mankind from now on.

Agreed. 100%.
Maybe the best thing is just to let all the 'GOG Stunt' threads die a quiet death and if anyone still needs to vent or give an opinion well there is the official apology thread at the top of the page.

Although judging from one new users double figured minus rep, i think there may be a bloody battle raging within, so enter at your own risk!
Why be polite when you can be raging loonie with anonymity. I personally want forums with filled with flames, trolls and 12 year olds playing pissing contests...

Wait that was halo. Nevermind. Move along nothing to see here.
Actually, it's not as bad as I feared it would be.

During the closure I saw almost nothing but frenzied blood rage on other web sites, and I was concerned that there would be little discussion here about anything else for days or weeks. Now that we're all back in our little walled garden, though, I'd say that the vast majority of posters are happy to carry on as we did before, and keep the discussion of downtime focused on a few main threads.

That said, there are a handful of loudmouths who aren't happy with the fact that some of us are perhaps not reading those threads. The sooner they stop tracking blood on my floor, the better.
It's a tidal wave. As it passes over, it'll be as before. We just don't know when that will happen. But don't worry. In a year or two, we won't ever remember this.

I hope. Liquor will probably help.
At least we aren't /v/ yet

Well now there was one younger member of the community who came in last year and acted like he was a fully fledged member of the dickhead brigade and we managed to smooth his rough edges. Hmm thats a thought, has anyone seen rohan? I can't say I've noticed him since the forums came back online

Great, now I have to pick up the slack and become even more of a bitter hateful selfish bastard. As if I didn't have enough to do!
