I can go to http://www.thedarkmod.com/main/ no problem, but when i try to visit the forums or the wiki the browser loads a few seconds and then tells me he hasnt found the page.

When i use a proxy like hidemyass.com i can visit the forums or the wiki no problem.

What might be the problem?

Might be your internet connection. I had a similar problem and it was fixed after I contacted my ISP.

Try change your dns. Use google dns for example..

Maybe that site is banned in your country, try with a VPN . Or maybe it was blocked from your ISP ? I get that sometimes.

my internet connection is ok, i already changed my dns, and i cant imagine why my isp would block this website, also wouldnt the whole website be banned so ithat i wouldnt even get to the first link?

The main site and the wiki might be on different servers. According to flagfox (firefox extension), the main site is located in Germany, and the forums and wiki located in the USA.

I have no problema with the site and forum...

yeah contacting the admin might be an idea, but i dont know how, i can visit the site only via proxy, and with the proxy i cant login or other stuff :(

can someone do me a favor and contact the admon for me? if he needs to know my isp, its german telekom

i found a website called "whois.net" if thats what you mean, but two things:

1. it didnt work

2. even if it would work, i wouldnt be able to contact him, would i? ^^

If you download Expat Shield (http://www.expatshield.com/) and fire it up, you should be able to access everything AND log in. For the free version, you'll have to put up with ads at the top of the page, but I've been using it for a couple of years and never had problems. It just makes the website think you're in the UK.

BTW, I'm in Thailand and we get 'parts of websites' blocked all the time as the government decides they don't want us to see it. That might be what's happening to you? Expat Shield will get around it.

And yes, although I was joking with Judas, there are a lot of spammers that come from Germany apparently. I had to block a HUGE number of German IPs from my websites recently as someone in Germany was attacking websites based in Asia with a bot. My guess is your IP may be on that spammer list, particularly if the servers are in the US.

Sucks for people who are legit, but those few spammers spoil it for all of us :(


And btw, make sure you download ExpatShield from their website link I gave you. Do NOT download it (or anything else for that matter) from CNET, as that website downloads all kinds of crap to your computer,

BTW, download takes just a couple of minutes and then you can turn it on and off as you please from an icon on your bottom of screen toolbar (sorry, don't know what that toolbar is called :) You can also PAY for a full version if you want, but honestly I've used the free one for years. Sure I have to look at an ad at the top of every page, but worth it for FREE :)
