tinyE: What was the name of the Vietnam movie filmed entirely from the point of view of the in field cameraman? Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Thank you Thank you Thank you!

tinyE: NHL Playoffs. Everyone gets pissed at me when I switch avatars so I just changed the color to match my team. The way the Blues are playing they are toast in 4 games so don't get used to this. :P

Sorry for the derail there.

Fever_Discordia: Kids in the Hall? Hockey? Are you SURE you're not Canadian and not from the US at all? You probably like bacon too!

(sorry to further derail but hey - its solved, OPs probably happily wandered off to play his funny titled FPS by now)
To be frank, I am glad I got my answer and I am glad the thread derailed in a good direction.

AnimalMother117: I've been meaning to get the first season, but I'm too cheap for my own good sometimes. Although, with the recommendation, I'll have to think about more.

monkeydelarge: Well maybe my taste is different from yours but I've seen every Vietnam War movie out there and there is only three Vietnam War movies I like(The Siege Of Firebase Gloria & Hamburger Hill & Apocalypse Now). I don't like Full Metal Jacket because the first half of the movie(the basic training)brings back a lot of bad memories. But the 2nd half of the movie is awesome because of animal mother, of course. :) We Were Solders would be another Vietnam War movie I like but there are too many parts of the movie that kill the mood for me.
Been meaning to see Siege of Firebase Gloria, seen lots of Hamburger Hill and Apocalypse Now. They don't play these movies hardly at all on TV, and come Memorial Day and I'm never near a TV for some reason. Wanted to see We Were Soldiers too.

And, one can imagine what I do whenever a game allows me to use a machine gun (preferably, the 60 :) ).

AnimalMother117: It looks either like First Indochina War or kicking the Japanese out, but I think you win the cigar. Thanks. I could have sworn it was the Second Indochina War, but I guess I was wrong.
7554 depicts the final part of the French occupation (which ended on 7 may, 1954, thus the title).

I use the M-60 whenever I can in games too. I was very disappointed in Bad Company 2 Vietnam when I found out the M-60 in the game sucks... I will never buy a Bad Company game ever again.

Delta Force Black Hawk Down was one of the first games that afforded me the use of the name "Animal Mother" as a verb, as in going all animal mother on those guys (generally unloading the M-60 on the mooks). It's fun. :)

Have you ever played the game, Nam? It was the first Vietnam War 3D shooter ever made. Before this game, there was only a mod inspired by the movie Platoon for Duke Nukem 3D. I remember the M-60 in Nam is bad ass.

The second GOG gets this game (if they get it) I'm buying it, it looks amazing.

I own most of them on DVD. I need to rip them to a hard drive so they are much easier to play.

That also reminds me of the Married with Children episode were Al's trying to watch John Wayne's Hondo that only plays on TV once every 10 years.

Where I live it seems FMJ and Platoon are on every ten minutes. Hamburger Hill not so much but it was always a little too pro-Vietnam War for me going out of it's way to condemn anyone who thought we shouldn't have been over there in the first place.

The Boys In Company C is also a great one with R. Lee Ermey playing a drill sergeant way before he became famous for playing one in Jacket.

Hmmm, I never got that vibe, even though I am ex-military I still have the opinion we had no business in that war. Nor any military action after WW2. Except for hunting down those responsible for 9-11.

I should have been a little more careful/sensitive with that posts but I agree with you 100%.

WELL WAIT....Grenada. We needed to make sure our guns still worked and there was nothing else to do on the base that day. :P

I think I've seen that twice on TV, strange since I'm not yet 20, I guess I'm just lucky. It seems like Military Channel plays Platoon near constantly. I've seen Hamburger Hill on TV a couple of times, FMJ almost never plays for me. Unfortunately most stations that play movies seem to play favorites, like for around two or three years AMC would play True Lies a couple times a week at least. I don't really watch TV much anymore, so things may be different now.

Hey, if you don't practice you get rusty, besides nothing's better for morale than a cakewalk campaign. Besides the wind is better for surfing by Grenada than Kings Bay.

Fever_Discordia: Wow - so this is the war against the French, a pre-cursor war to the Vietnam conflict we usually think of!
Mind - slightly blown by that!

Yeah, I was only one year old at the time.
Vietnam was much later, I was nearly drafted for that one!
BS war/conflict that it was. :/
