Is anyone else having problems making a purchase using a credit card?

I'm asking because I just tried to purchase both "Witchers" with my cc and got redirected to paypal? WTF? I've always used my cc with no problem. My last purchase from GOG was in December with the same card.
You're supposed to go through PayPal to make your payment.

I'm confused, Is this a recent change? I don't remember ever going through Paypal to use my credit card. I don't even have a PayPal account and I've bought lots of games from GOG.

I've never made a single GOG purchase through Paypal. Wazhai is simply intent on spreading misinformation. Make sure your cache and whatnot are cleared. Try booting from a virtual session or a Linux live cd such as Ubuntu, Puppy Linux, or Damn Small Linux if that doesn't work.

Barring that, it's probably a site related glitch or some other odd problem.

GameRager: Did you choose CC as payment option when checking out?
Yep. I also supplied all my billing info. When I clicked to process the order, it took me to the Paypal page which I had never seen before.

For some sites I've been redirected to the "verified by visa" page, but I can't remember if GOG does that. Or maybe they used to, but don't anymore?

Excuse me, but all of my recent purchases from GoG in the last few days have gone through PayPal successfully. I'm new to GoG so I don't know how it's been in the past, but that's how it worked for me. Would you refrain from insulting me like that?

EDIT: And I don't have a PayPal account, you don't need to have one for the order to go through. There's a little button that says "proceed without registering".

You said "You're supposed to go through PayPal to make your payment." You stated this as if it were matter-of-fact. I'm not terribly fond of seeing people doing that. I'm relatively new to GOG as well, though I've made a good number of transactions, and even on my first purchase attempt I was able to select the credit card option and go through without Paypal, so that's irrelevant.

Perhaps this was a misunderstanding, perhaps English isn't your first language and you worded it wrong. I don't think it matters, but the point is that Paypal is 100% optional. Personally I think Paypal can suck it and I like to avoid the middleman when I can. It's already done enough harm to eBay, itself pretty much being a monopoly but a necessary evil for me.

I usually don't see anything like that. I use a Visa debit card and providing you're being honest, we both live in the United States. It usually goes from the information screen to the successfully purchased screen, without any pop-ups or evident verifications.

My last purchase was on the 10th when I got both The Witcher and The Witcher 2, so if it's changed at all, it's changed within the last week. Again, consider my suggestions and see if it helps.

It's my bad for saying it like that, I thought it applied to all purchases.

My bank card isn't in USD and that is probably the reason why I had to go through PayPal - to convert currencies.

Hmm, well that shouldn't be right, seeing as GOG is based in Poland...
Well, I'm not sure what the problem was, but my latest purchase attempt worked.

I checked pay using cc and entered my info as always. However this time I got the usual payment processed page and was NOT sent to PayPal.

Maybe it was because I purchased each of them separately, or someone saw the support ticket I had submitted. However, I suspect it was some random temporary glitch somewhere.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Yeah. Enjoy The Witcher, it's an awesome game. Seeing as The Witcher 2 is a brand new game and might have a few glitches, a delayed release, trouble downloading, your computer can't handle it, or some other excuse, feel free to take the time to play the first game. There's no reason you need to play the sequel immediately at launch, it'll still be waiting there for you when you finish The Witcher. ;)

Also, make sure you use F5 rather frequently. It's a great game, but it likes to quit to the desktop sometimes.
