I have some games bought twice, on gog and on steam. Since I need to use the steam software anyway for the new games I want to give away some games. Is this legally possible? How? Can I make a gift?

If you have already bought the games and they are in your account you cannot give them away to someone else. You can only gift new purchases which then go directly into the recipient's account.

If you purchased a game on GOG recently (e.g. within the past 30 days), and you haven't downloaded that game from your shelf, it might be possible for GOG support to remove the game from your shelf and provide a gift code that you could give to someone. However, if you've owned the game for awhile or if you've downloaded it, then that won't be possible.

If you have excess keys then you can gift them but you can not, under any cicumstance, give game files from your account to others. There are some other stores that have different systems in place. GamersGate allows gifting of game as long as it has never been downloaded or the serial key revealed and there's one store (I forgot the name) that allowed to sell games back to store in exchange of store credit. But in them the first sentence applies.

I'm pretty sure the 30 days is for if you're having problems running the game. You can only get refunds of games on your shelf you HAVEN'T downloaded within 14 days from time of purchase.

Ah, I knew the window for not downloading games was shorter than the 30-day money back guarantee, but couldn't remember exactly (and was too lazy to look it up) .Thanks for confirming. :)
