michaelleung: There's a political party in Quebec called the Bloc Quebecois which basically wants Quebec to become its own country. HAHA DREAM ON
Delixe: You have to admire them. They are more French than the French are. That's almost impossible but I think the French Canadians didn't get the memo that it's not fashionable for French people to be assholes.

French are awesome warriors, Look at the terrorist who attacked their boat then they captured them terrorists and we can only guess what kind of torture a frenchman can deal out since they came from the same country as Napoleon. It's the Quebecans who given the French a bad name. Knew a girl from there, total bi0tch with a chip on her shoulder and a condescending tone. I'm part French and proud of it, along with the Cherokee German Irish and English. Sigh, ok so they're a part of me but I'm still proud of it!

ovoon: Other than that, Alberta is as boring as it gets, it's cold, but if your into hunting moose and stuff then... well your a dick because moose's are freaking awesome.
But I've heard Canada can be beautiful... just not the 7 hours of flat boring grassland that I had to drive through :/
This is no slam to Canadians by the way... I think...

That first bit made my day, thanks. :D
There are boring parts. It's freakin huge and underpopulated. :)
No offense taken.
Visit somewhere else! It's beautiful.

Navagon: It's something I keep hearing about. Not a one off thing. I can think of a few examples, but they wouldn't be the *better* ones. It's legal system seems to have been imported from Bizarro Land. It definitely doesn't conform to any other county's legal system, or even have logical reasons behind it. They HAVE to go their own way on everything, often to their detriment. I'm sure that some people here can give you some good examples.
Yup. For example, contests and giveaways are typically valid in all provinces - except Quebec. There was a law that you couldn't put up English signs, (though I think that's mostly out of date now). Provincial sales tax is compounded on top of Federal. When married, the one performing the ceremony has to read a paragraph about some legal nonsense and the woman has to retain her maiden name (she can change it later, it's just not part of the marriage). You couldn't turn right on a red light until a few years ago.
However, it can be a great place... Montreal is very cool (and incredibly English). Eastern Townships are beautiful, too. Quebec City is historical and very scenic. Northern Quebec is extremely rugged, if you're more the wilderness type. It's just a huge province (bigger than all but about 18 countries I believe) so there's loads of variety.

Actually it was used to describe something that was way more nationalistic than it really needed to be (Quebeced it up). Nationalistic about a nation other than this one, that is. Which, as a spur of the moment analogy I found impressive. Especially given who came out with it.
