I wasn't sure which way you wanted to go with it style wise, and I'm still in uber-dark mode given that my current project requires that :P so... if I get a chance to take another go at this guy, I could try to make him less horrible and more, well...whatever he needs to be.

Unfortunately, I really don't know when I'll be able to get around to it. This whole year is going to be a pretty intense one, but if I can I'll post some more pics.

Are you intending to keep this as a comic, or are you planning on returning to the game idea?

I don't think that a zombie racing around on a rolling tumbleweed is really suitable for a serious treatment, but it's always possible to prove me wrong. :) Anyway, that was the way I saw it, something a little absurd and cartoonish.

Don't worry about the time. I'll be sorry to not see it any time soon, but anything you can draw will be cool, and what you've already done is more than I have a right to expect. :)

The game idea is something I had for a while, but it's one that's down on the list compared to other games I'd like to do. Considering that I'm not dedicating much time to create them (full time job plus kids don't leave me much time, and what's left I tend to waste on things like browsing...) I'm not sure I'll ever get to it. That said, I do want to create games. I hope that I manage to find time for that eventually.

Out of curiosity, are you a programmer by trade, or are you more interested in the writing angle of development?

it's a very easy to use drawing app that encourages people to draw various stuff and it's free. People actually get better after time spent with this app. It's probably not as effective as attending art classes but it's a fun way to improve your skills a little and overcome the "i can't draw" fear.

And if you like the app, you might consider supporting it a little by buying coins from their store because it recently fell on hard times and drawquest users and staff are still trying to find ways to keep drawquest from shutting down completely.

I'm a programmer by trade and a writer by hobby. Haven't written much in recent years, but I did have a story published in The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction (that was over 10 years ago). When it comes to games I'm interested in the design aspect first.

Edit: I mean game design, not necessarily graphical design, although that's also an aspect. I do think of visual aspects of the intro and story, which is why I designed this comic page. I might say that I'm a hobbyist game designer, but that may be stretching it a bit, considering that I don't have anything to show for it (like I do for writing). The first games I will publish (and I hope I will get to doing something in the not too distant future) will likely be programming tests more than polished ideas.

It's a matter of practice primarily. It might be that you have to start with drawings that are based on circles, squares and triangles, but barring something serious like blindness or lacking hands, there's no reason why you can't learn to at least draw simple pictures.

Drawing like any other skill is primarily a matter of practicing correct techniques. The brain will usually adjust to it over time.

The platforms I use are Windows and Android, tablet being my preferred form factor for gaming (due to portability). I'm gaming on Android mostly now, but planning to move to a Windows tablet. So I naturally gravitate towards these, but tablet is quite a challenging form factor to design for, so I often think first in keyboard/mouse terms.

As for Zoombie.... I'm going to try to squeeze in some time for it next weekend, though I can't really commit. It is definitely something I'd like to keep up with either way.
