Salsa_Shark: I prefer 2 simply because it scared me which is something no other game Ive played has done(maybe im just a wimp).

ENGINEERING DECK NAO!
That was the most horrifying level ever. I do wish, though, that someone would attempt to balance out the classes. Psi users are pretty much useless without military skills.
Holy Hell, SS1 with mouse look?
FINALLY!
For some reason I've always been able to make allowances for Doom and Dark Forces, but when I gave System Shock a try after having played mouse look capable games for a few years, I just couldn't give it a fair shot.
This is a happy day.
That is awesome! Definitely even more of an insta-buy when it hits GOG now. Yeah, I said when, not if.
I skipped over this thread because of the title a few times.
then I decided I'd come in guns a blazing.
it didn't work out so well.
Awesome work, hope it gets some popularity now.
And looks like it is a NEW mod, not just a "copy/paste" from that Portable version.
new video demonstrating the 1st level:

n00b!
I see this mod being used with System Shock Portable.
And SSP uses DGvoodoo/DGvesa, which didn't work on x64.
Do the higher resolutions work under x64?
using SSP, you have to manually enable the higher res's - overwrite with the zipped file of your choice in shock/res when you have downloaded SSP.
Im playing in 1024x768 on windows7 ultimate 64, with mouselook enabled. Using DGvesa.
Awesome. I admit to giving up on SS1 because of the clunky controls - I was a massive SS2 fan, and grew up with mouselook taken as standard.
SS1 is said to have a better story than SS2 - cant wait to find out now....

Well, i've tried regulat SSP some time ago, and today with [and without] the modification, and no matter what i do, SS+DGVesa doesn't run on my system [also win7x64].
I'd have to run it through dosbox, right? That's where the mouse works bad, the x/y sensitivity is weird, in inventory mode the Y axis is too fast, while X is uber slow, and in aiming/looking mode, both are a bit slow.;(
[edit]and dosbox means no dgvesa. [/edit]
