It's a legitimate site.

The only thing is that it's an international company, so some banks will automatically flag transactions here until you clear them up. I haven't had that problem personally, but I know some people have.

EDIT: And yes, you will be spending a lot more on games. But they're good games! And GOG has pretty good support, just a bit slow sometimes. :)

I find it funny that so many people who stumble on GOG.com by accident worry that it might be an illegal site.

GOG.com is perfectly legit, but as Huff said, watch your wallet. Before you know it, you've bought 150 games that you just have to have, even though you don't actually have time to play more than a few of them (yes, I am speaking from personal experience) ;-)

SlyReddevils: you mean im going to be spening all my money on these games? ^^
No, he means that GOG staff is going to wait for you in a dark corner, punch you in the face and steal all your stuff. They're a worldwide crime syndicate, covering up as a game retailer. They even pay people on discussion boards to tell you that GOG is legit!

Meaning my credit card company may not let me buy from here?
Oh, and in before Licurg comes to tell you to buy Sacrifice.

Your cc company may flag up fraud warning because you are using it aboard. Nothing to worry about

Yes, you might have to manually inform your bank that GOG is alright. Most banks seem to accept GOG, but some have issues with it.

Possibly. GOG is incorporated in Cyprus for business reasons, and to some banks that's an automatic red flag, because Cyprus is apparently known in banking circles as a hotbed of credit card fraud schemes.
Yep, it's totally legit, and it's totally addicting... must... add... one... more... pretty... picture... to... shelf... *dies of starvation*
Looks legit to me.
