This is for SWAT 3 random draw: I spent New Year's day watching Stephen King's The Stand miniseries while eating... you guess it, ice cream cake. My father-in-law happened to get Häagen-Dazs ice cream cake as a New Year's gift, and so he shared half of it with me :-)

Thanks again for having a SWAT 2 draw.

My wife and I went to a restaurant. The "big band" they said they'd have when we asked ended up being a keyboard player and a sax/flute/clarinet player. The staff acted like they just wanted us to gorge ourselves with food and leave at 12. Champagne toast tasted more like they gave us sparkling apple cider. It was rather a disappointment.

We'll definitely be doing something different next year... probably go uptown for the big event there.

I have explained my love of both cake and pie on several occasions. In short, my opinion is that a well-baked cake can trump any pie in terms of deliciousness. However, I do still love pies given their superb versatility. A pie can be both sweet and savoury, meaning you can have a whole meal of nothing but pies! I also have to say that pies are also irresistibly delicious, but the potential isn't quite as high as a cake's. So if I were to pick my favourite thing to eat, it'd be a cake. Not that I'm saying one's totally better than the other of course, they both have their place in the world, but most of the time there's nothing I'd like more than to sit down in front of a huge cake and just go nuts with it.

Are you including crumbles, dutch pies, and tartes under your pies? because I do, I took the pie less travelled by, and that has made all the difference!

I like a good rainbow chip cake, though honestly the only dessert I really love is ice cream.

Oh and I wouldn't mind winning cool shit. Not sure what question we're on but I spent new years eve at a block party with my family watching drunk people be drunk people.
