Repeating myself: C0da is masterminded by Michael Kirkbride, who is responsible for much of what made Morrowind Morrowind. It represents his final take on and farewell to the Morrowind story.

It's supposed to go online in Q1 2014. It's supposed to be a free of charge pdf. As of now, you can check out... I guess you could call it prequels. Refer to the post by the user called numinit, with all the links*. These are old texts by Kirkbride, spiced up with c0da graphics.

Now, the question: What do you make of it?

Pretentious gibberish? Poetic, profound art? Something in between? Does it annoy you how a bunch of nerds brood over the willfully inaccessible ramblings of some game developer? A pointless obsession with a pointless obsession? Or do you believe that this is a worthwhile undertaking by talented artists that merits deeper consideration?

As for me... I'm not particular taken by it all, but I prefer it to the usual video game/fantasy worldbuilding. I think this is a fine thing.

At any rate, I have already seen attempts to ... Futurify TES lore. And to be perfectly honest, I liked all of them more than the two .pdfs I have just red (for the reference: , [url=http://c0da.es/e8e]second, , [url=http://c0da.es/hahd]fourth, fifth)

If I dislike something, it's when form takes precedence to function, and that's most definitely the case here. Author seems to go to great lengths to greatly punish anyone who doesn't happen to remember TES terminology, even when that's actually not necessary at all as TES games actually did use english to present all its information.

I do agree that part of the appeal of it all is the conviction of being "in the know". Of knowing more about the underpinnings of the Elder Scrolls world, discussing CHIM and Amaranth, while the regular fan at best wonders whatever happened to the dwarves.

Still, man. A lost mining drone from the future turned anti-humanity goddess of the elves. I think that is pretty cool.

Sadly enough, no. I'm afraid those were long lost to time, and I'm not even sure whether they were written in english. It is a cool thought. But so is the city of London chasing a small mining town across the dried-out bed of the old North Sea :-P (seriously, click the look inside button a read a couple of pages.)
