Hey everybody, I was wondering if anyone knew of Prepaid gift cards that you can buy in the US to use on GOG.com, or if I could rig one of these cards up to PayPal to buy from GOG. I really want to buy more from GOG, hell I'd probably blow my entire paycheck on here, but I usually have no way to buy off here. Anyone with any input on this would be greatly appreciated, there's so many games I'd like to buy from GOG!

I agree completely and wholeheartedly. Especially if GOG were to put "GOG Wallet Cards" into GameStop, which, according to its marketing materials gives "power to the players", but GOG is the ulimate "power to the players" company and I'm surprised, given how much of the GOG audience is based not only here in the States, but in Europe as well, it is almost imperative that whatever means we need to get our GOG fix, we can utilize.

walmarts has those prepaid credit cards you can buy for cash in their money sections (like near the customer service, sometimes with coinstar machines); sometimes its a little stand or something near the front.

i know its at least 3 bucks a month or some stupid fee, but if you had an X value you wanted to buy in one month it might be worth the fee. the cards are rechargable as well in person if i gauge the program correctly. might be worth looking into.

not sure if you can ping them thru paypal since i gave up on it after i saw the fee, so no experimenting.

have you had issues using pre-paid cards in the states? are there some that are known to be bad to use?

I have used pre-paid cards before. The process was generally buy the card, give it a bit of time to make sure the funds activate (like a couple hours), then you can goto the card's website and enter in some info for making internet purchases. Most card I've used say to give it a 24 hour period after registering before you use it to make a purchase online.

The fees are usually $3.95 for $25, $4.95 for $50 and $5.95 for $100. Cards now a days in the United States can't be used for international online purchases due to a law that went into effect March 31st 2012. You would have to use the Paypal option at check out, then pay as a guest.

Edit: Also, the first time using the card, a $1 fee will be charged to it that will sit for anywhere from a couple days to a week as a fraud check. Take this into account when you make a purchase so it doesn't cause the purchase to fail. This is only done the first time with paypal when using the card.

I use the Walmart MoneyCard for my GOG purchases and it does absolutely fine for my purposes. In fact that will be the only way I pay for any online purchases of any sort (excepting gift cards that you find in your local stores), and especially after the holidays.
