King of Dragon Pass is one of the greatest games I've ever played. Since I bought it here on GOG, it became the third-most played game in my life, after HOMM 3 and Eador: Genesis respectively. It's addictive, the gameplay is so varied that no 2 playthroughs are the same, it's beautifully written and has awesome hand-drawn graphics.

It's a game everybody MUST play, so if you have money, even if it's the last 1.5$ on your account, buy it. For those of you who are actually dead-broke, post whatever in this thread, and you can win one copy.

There are no rep/join date limits.

Those of you who already have it and have played it, say a few words about what you liked about it, maybe you can convince some of the people who are on the fence to get it.

NOTE : Besides this copy I'm giving away now, I also bought several others and gifted them to some friends. If one or more of them already own the game, or are insane enough to refuse, gonna add it here so there may be 2 or more winners.

Draw will be in a day or two.

Let the games begin !

EDIT:
We now have two copies thanks to GoatBoy ! Yay !

EDIT2: We got a third copy from an anonymous donor !

EDIT3 : A fourth copy from AngloZaxxon, be sure to thank him !

EDIT4: A 5th copy, from an anonymous donor. Yay !

I already have the game, yet I wanted to wish you all the luck in promoting the game.
Sure, I'd be willing to give it a shot.

And how is Eador? It looks pretty awesome. But I haven't heard much about it. And if given the opportunity, should I opt out for the second one, or Genesis?

It's the one game where I actually contacted the developer about getting out a digital version, because I felt this game deserved so much exposure than it ever got on CD. Glad they finally managed to get it done through GOG.

Highly recommend it :)

Just as awesome, but in different ways. Don't have the second one, so couldn't say.

Just bought it. Retro style + nice, hand-painted graphics... could be fun!

Thank you for doing this, Licurg! KoDP is indeed a wonderful game, one of the true gems I was so lucky to have found through GOG.com. It is very hard to describe just because how unique it is: it is a strategy game, but really you are making choices all the time (e.g. ask another tribe for food, or slaughter cattle, or sacrifice to gods hoping for a better harvest etc.).

You also need to take care of all sorts of disputes between members within your clan and possible with other clans.

Now the point is, pretty much every choice you make will have some sort of consequence in the future. e.g. if you ask for a tribe for food, then you might owe them a favor which you'll have to repay later. e.g. if you side with a member in your clan, then the other member in the dispute might get mad and move to another clan, and later might lead an army against you, and you kill him, and his family gets mad at you, then the member you sided with stands up for you... it never ends. (oh well it does end eventually, but you get the idea)

Thanks Licurg, I'm in :)
I'm not in because I have it, but I wanted to echo your claim that everyone play King of Dragon Pass. I kid you not. The first time I loaded it, six hours of my day just disappeared. It's unique, interesting, and you never know what's going to happen next. I also like the art style.
