Sulibor: Missed promo so I am in. It is a bit disappointing that developers abandoned PC and remake of game (with additional content) will be released on IPhone/iPad only.
Well, who knows, maybe they'll port it at one point. There's lots of games that used to be exclusively for phones and tablets, but then got PC versions.
I would like to participate. :)
Id like to enter for this if I may Licurg. Its a game thats been on my "want to play" list for some time. Just not had the cash to spare due to car issues.

There is an explanation for this here: http://www.gog.com/forum/king_of_dragon_pass/think_they_will_update_the_gog_version/post6

Basically, the tools used to develop the PC version don't exist anymore and it would be a huge effort for the developers to make the updates.

Understandable. But there's no way I would buy the iOS version since I don't use Apple products. If they made an Android version, that's another story, but if they port it to Android, why not PC.

Licurg: King of Dragon Pass is one of the greatest games I've ever played. Since I bought it here on GOG, it became the third-most played game in my life, after HOMM 3 and Eador: Genesis respectively. It's addictive, the gameplay is so varied that no 2 playthroughs are the same, it's beautifully written and has awesome hand-drawn graphics.

It's a game everybody MUST play, so if you have money, even if it's the last 1.5$ on your account, buy it. For those of you who are actually dead-broke, post whatever in this thread, and you can win one copy.

There are no rep/join date limits.

Those of you who already have it and have played it, say a few words about what you liked about it, maybe you can convince some of the people who are on the fence to get it.

NOTE : Besides this copy I'm giving away now, I also bought several others and gifted them to some friends. If one or more of them already own the game, or are insane enough to refuse, gonna add it here so there may be 2 or more winners.

Draw will be in a day or two.

Let the games begin !

EDIT:
We now have two copies thanks to GoatBoy ! Yay !

EDIT2: We got a third copy from an anonymous donor !

EDIT3 : A fourth copy from AngloZaxxon, be sure to thank him !

EDIT4: A 5th copy, from an anonymous donor. Yay !
I'm not in, because I bought it last night (and before I saw this thread) when I saw such a high rated game that sounded interesting for cheap.. +1 for the giveaway :)
count me in

Played it for a couple of hours, it surely is an interesting and enticing game! Go for it!!

Sorry, but no. Once you get one of those Koreen tin-cans, you can never regain the trust of real men.

Wow, what a pleasant surprise to see this!

A Sharp can contribute three promo codes for the iOS version, if Licurg is willing to pass them out.

Thanks to you and the others pitching in!

And some other notes on the thread:

The setting is more like Iron Age, not Medieval.

As for copies sold: self-publishing was quite different in 1999. In any case, our strength is in making games, not publishing and promoting them.

As for platforms: there is already a Windows version, thanks to GOG working their magic on the original. We don’t have a lot of interest in reworking 1/3 of the game just to have it on Windows, where it already is. And we have no expertise with Android, though we’re happy to entertain offers from publishers who do.

How many new clutches has the MGBGT had?

Bought 6 copies yesterday, one for this giveaway, and 5 gifted directly to my friends. Not a single one of them refused, which shows I have smart friends :D

As for the iOS codes, I don't think that would be a good idea to add them here, since I'm drawing it tomorrow. Still, PM them to me and I can do a separate giveaway.

Speaking of pleasant surprises - How about a sequel ? :D
