I've just downloaded and been playing Conquistador from GOG (Backed its kickstarter, game will be released here today).

I highly recommend it for the following reasons:

- Lots of very well written dialogue and encounters with meaningful choice and consequence
- Excellent character customization and progression. Take a group of 10 followers of different classes and promote, upgrade and equip them in multiple ways
- Great tactical combat which is simple to play yet offers many tactical decisions each turn
- Fantastic setting. I really got insight into how the conquistadors must have felt when I felt obliged to murder a whole tribal village. They were hostile towards me and after defeating them in combat I felt that leaving any survivors would lead to dangerous reprisals down the track.
- Great overall "strategic" exploration layer with great camping system.

Overall it has so many great mechanics that work together well to make a very compelling game.

If you haven't backed this game already, I highly recommend it to any "old school" gamer
Is it on a staggered release or something? I'm in the United States and I don't see it available for purchase anywhere on the site. I'm eagerly awaiting this game, I love old-school.

I'm going to guess it's because PMIK is in a different time zone, that of which is already Thursday May 30th (14 hours ahead as a matter of fact, and lunch time!). It's interesting to know what's coming before it even comes :)

I too like backing the kickstarter games, especially when they make it to GOG. I also need to get the Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, and I can only hope Kronos and Planetary Annihilation will make it here. I also plan and hope to get the Wastelands. I've already kickstarted Project Eternity and Torment: ToN

So exciting! :D

The question is though, what else came out on the 30th for you, and for us tomorrow?
I've backed Wasteland 2, Proj, Eternity, and Torment: ToN. Somehow I only discovered Expeditions just a few weeks ago or I would have backed it too.
Sorry guys, I probably should have made my post a bit clearer.

The game has been released for kickstarter backers. We have the choice of downloading from Gamersgate, Desura or GOG. Naturally I chose GOG and have downloaded it form here.

The game is not otherwise available for purchase from GOG but it will be at the usual time in 7 hours.
So is 6 a.m. the official add time for new games, seeing it's 11 p.m. here in New Hampshire?

I guess so. Its always 8pm over here in Sydney so that would be in 6 hours and 45 minutes time regardless of where you are. Unless you live dangerously close to a black hole, in which case I have no idea how long it would be.

Damn! I should really move my T.A.R.D.I.S. ...
I get 404'd when I try to download it, anyone get it?
It'll be the 3rd Kickstarter game here on GoG, after FTL and Strike Suit Zero?

Backed this along with a bunch of others way back. Gog code says expiry may 28th lol. Still works
Will download later...:). Anything u dont like about the game so far?
I'm still waiting on my code, but excellent game (betaaaas I have plaaayed). And since in other articles about the game a common reaction is "Conquistadors? Sounds racist!": You can play a racist, conquer all for mother Spain conquistador if you want, but you can also be sympathetic and side with the natives. It's pretty free.

I was hoping I'd get the key before I went to bed so I could download it overnight (the internet where I'm at temporarily is terrible, terrible, terrible, teeeeerrriiiibbblllleeee).
