It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

taczillabr: I'm in Firefox 3.6.8 and the bottom doesn't work. Tested the bottom now on IE, and strangely it works. Not important, just reporting and whining about the craptastic search.
It could be that version of Firefox or maybe a plugin. It's working on Firefox 3.6.12 for me but i don't have any plugins on it.

taczillabr: I didn't even know there are anonymous reviews... And also, they should have a standard for writing reviews. Reviews are a mess, kinda boring to read through.
I'm not sure if they're still allowed of if/when they were removed but i'm under the impression i stumbled on a few before. I remember a particular one for TLJ but i went over all of them and i can't find it, maybe it was prunned.

Navagon: What gets me is that you read a GOG staff member's post about not wanting to make changes that inconvenience forum users, then you see things progressing in an entirely contrary direction.
Well, i think there's room for improvement, sure. The issues taczillabr mentioned above for example. And i can't come to terms with how the new index on the community page works, but that's probably just me because i spend most of my time on a network jumping from one machine to the next which renders the highlights useless since they're not account bound but stored by the browser.

But alot of stuff has been fixed already since the relaunch so i feel optimistic.

Really? I thought they were account bound.

Heh, anyway I never look at the index's selection of threads. And I don't give a shit about the GOGmixes... and for who does give, it's boring not to have a way to search trough all of them.

The threads index on the right side are account bound but the boards index aren't, the data is stored on the browser's history. I don't know if it has to be that way for some tech reason but it's incredibly annoying to move from one PC to another and having all the boards lit up on the index.

The gogmixes are a feature that i trully have trouble understanding, maybe i'm old or soemtihng ;) ,but yes, for those who like to use them some sort of search feature would surely be great.

Ah, thanks for explaining. I favorite all interesting threads, this way I can have everything from any PC.

It's not that we are old.

I think it's for new users/newcomers and for modern games, who don't know much about older releases but still are interested in discovering them and digging through similar games. I guess it's the same for the new Steam's personalized recommendations, it's for who isn't a big of a gamer, but got interested by a genre and then wants to discover more. (even if more=Kane and Lynch 2, always). :p

For me, just visiting mobygames and wikipedia is enough 95% of the time for recommendations/similar games. For the 5% left, there's google.

Yes, that works for threads you already know about, but if you move from one PC to another you won't be able to tell which boards have new threads/posts by looking at the boards index because all boards will be lit up, and let's face it, with 178 boards the time stamps are useless to keep track of...well, anything really.

I also rely heavily on Mobygames to track down stuff that might interest me.

I don't know, you could be right in that it's a feature that it's probably more useful and that mostly caters to those who aren't familiar with the games on catalogue. Me, i'm happy with a couple of filters to narrow things down ;)
Chaser and Moto Racer also use a generic GOG.com forum icon.
The rep recalculation has been finished. Everything should work as it used to in the beta. I understand that every move we make that concerns reputation is bound to bring a long discussion. I just have one minor thing to ask of you. Please, don't bring this discussion to this thread as it's very useful for tracking bugs and I would really like it to stay as it is. This is just an information about the end of rep repair action.

That's good news. Thanks Damuna, i've updated the op ;)
For some reason there are two Gothic forums. One is "Gothic series" and the other "Gothic 2 Gold Edition" which only has one thread in it.
That one has been mentioned a few times. I'm guessing there's a reason why the devs can't just dispose of that board otherwise it wouldn't be on the boards index anymore. Luckily it's just a matter of unticking its checkbox to keep it out of sight.

Is it added to your list of forums when you buy the game? If nothing else they could stop that from happening
Looks like Judas made himself a permanent and solo game board.
Alien Shooter + Expansions - "expansions" is written with a lowercase e in the title bar.
In the "What's cool about it" section "Fight for life" should be "Fight for Life" (big L).
Also, the second expansion is called "The Experiment", not just "Experiment" (according to MobyGames).
The second sentence in the "What's cool about it" section seems odd.
Cheers! :D
